| “ | December 11th. This will be my final entry. I've been trapped in this hospital for two weeks. TWO WEEKS! Just laying here, being hounded by doctors, and nurses... Two weeks, reliving that night over and over again! Two weeks, feeling the anger burning inside me. My whole life, I've been told there is something "wrong" with me. And they were right. I've been trying so hard to suppress what I am. And it HURTS! All I can think about is hurting... EVERYONE! There's a constant screaming in my head, telling me, BEGGING me to... kill... them... all! If you're reading this, you know my story. You've heard my name. You've seen the aftermath... | „ |
| ~ Jeff's villainous breakdown, before fleeing away from the hospital and start his killing spree. |
Jeffrey Mason, later known as Jeff the Killer, is the main protagonist of The Morgue Files: Case #2 and later a supporting antagonist throughout the series The Morgue Files. Just like his "original" incarnation, he was a teenager who, as it were, went insane and set out on a killing spree after having endured a horrific event that would disfigure his physical appearance.
He was voiced by the series' creator, David Near.
Appearance[]
Jeff is a tall young man who suffers from albinism, a congenital lack of melanin that causes his skin and all bodily hair to be white, and his eyes appear red in certain lighting. Shortly after turning 17, he would grow out his hair and dye it black to avoid being easily noticed. After being brutalized and burnt alive, his entire face is deformed beyond recognition. Besides the burn scars, he no longer has eyelids or eyebrows, and has also lost most of his hair. In addition to the burn wounds, he has a distinctive Glasgow smile carved into his cheeks. Two years after his killing spree, most of his wounds have healed, albeit very poorly, and most of his hair grows back, now a dirty white.
Just like his original version, he wears a pair of black jeans and sneakers to match, and a simple white hoodie that would be later soiled with dirt, soot, his own blood and that of his victims. After his admission at Pinehearst State Hospital, his dirty clothes are replaced with an orange jumpsuit.
Background[]
Little is known about Jeff's past. He was born with albinism, which may have been one of the factors contributing to his future antisocial behavior. At some point in his life, he injured Liu on a playground and later poisoned Liu's pet rabbit, Sully, with rat poison. At the age of seventeen, he and his brother moved with their parents to Forest Lawn.

Personality[]
Jeffrey Mason is, without a doubt, one of the most violent and heartless adaptations of Jeff the Killer. From an early age, Jeff displayed behavior that would give him the hook to become a full-blown monster in the future. As a child, he intentionally knocked Liu off a slide and would later poison his brother's pet rabbit out of curiosity. In his own words, even admitting to have liked it.
As he grew older, Jeff became increasingly antisocial and highly aggressive, prone to treat even his own family members angrily. He's somewhat narcissistic and envious of his brother, whom he considers to be better treated by his parents. Jeff was also shown to be a depraved pervert, spying on Christy Simmons as she undresses in her room, and he continues to do so repeatedly even after getting caught and scolded by his father, and even writing about it in his journal. His attraction to her, however, is not at all conventional for a boy, with him later admitting that he would like to wear her skin.
Jeff has also displayed a lack of care and interest in general rules, committing crimes on a whim without any regard for the consequences. He is constantly getting involved into fights, stealing a bottle of whiskey from a party store, stealing a knife from a gang member, and worst of all, killing animals.
But after getting tortured, mutilated and set on fire, Jeff's anger became overwhelming, causing him to shed whatever inhibitions he had previously and become an inhuman monster. He became a completely sadistic, cruel and brutal individual, driven only by the desire to harm others indiscriminately. Even after getting caught by the police and sent to Pinehearst State Hospital, Jeff makes it clear that he doesn't plan on stopping his murderous rampage.
