Jeffrey Galanis is a major antagonist in The Wilds.

He is played by Carter Hudson who also played Teddy McDonald in Snowfall.

Biography[]

Jeffrey Galanis is a novelist in his 30s, known for his works such as The Nature of Her, a book featured in the series The Wilds. He attended the East Bay Academy of Art, where he first made an impression on Leah Rilke, a high school student who was assigned to read his third published work. Their interaction begins when Leah offers to drive him to his hotel after a talk about his book.

They develop a brief but complicated relationship, marked by texts and a controversial encounter when Leah visits his hotel room. It is later revealed that she had lied about her age, leading to a fallout when Jeffrey learns that he has been involved with someone underage, sparking anger and fear of scandal.

Throughout the series, Jeffrey remains a controversial figure, seen as predatory by others, particularly Leah’s friends, including Ian Murnen and Fatin Jadmani. His relationship with Leah deteriorates as the truth of their encounter comes to light. Jeffrey's brief appearances in the series show a man struggling with his actions, yet he continues to text Leah after their first encounter. His past relationships with Leah's parents, Maryann and Kurt Rilke, are not explored in detail, but they remain unaware of his inappropriate pursuit of their daughter.
