Jeremy is the secondary antagonist of the episode Smiling Friends episode "Charlie Dies and Doesn't Come Back." He is an inhabitant of Hell who serves as Charlie's only form of hellish entertainment.
He is voiced by Michael Cusack, who also voices Mr. Frog, Rex, Grim, and the Plump Demon in the same series.
Appearance[]
Jeremy is a tall, lanky critter with black skin and branch-like limbs, fingers, and wings. He has two giant eyes atop his head with scribbled pupils.
Personality[]
Jeremy is a hellishly annoying individual whose sole purpose is to "entertain" his victims by screaming unintelligible nonsense and flailing his arms in their face. He is persistent in this goal, continuing his antics even after being warned of the potential consequences. Once Charlie punches him in the gut, he reacts melodramatically, and quickly returns for revenge by punching him in the face.
Biography[]
When chopping down a Christmas tree, Charlie accidentally kills himself by having it fall on top of him. He awakes in Hell, where a demon welcomes him and claims to be his new master, introducing him to his vile "hell toilet" and "hell mattress." He then introduces Jeremy, a black demon critter, as his only form of "hellish entertainment" in the afterlife. Jeremy demonstrates by waving his hands frantically in Charlie's face while screaming obnoxiously, prompting Charlie to threaten him with a punch if he does it again, making it clear that he isn't joking. Charlie insults the demon's attempts to create a makeshift Hell for him while Satan's Hell is frozen over, causing him to cry. Jeremy consoles the demon as he cries, glaring at Charlie disapprovingly.
As Charlie approaches Satan's room, believing that the "biggest surprises" are behind him, Jeremy suddenly appears again to annoy Charlie, flailing his arms and screaming yet again, which receives a swift punch to the gut as Charlie had warned. As Jeremy melodramatically reels from the assault, groaning in pain and collapsing to the floor, Charlie points out that he warned him earlier. Charlie later offends Satan by mistake while trying to make him happy, prompting Satan to bound Charlie to a torture rack and be stabbed by his minions. As this happens, Jeremy appears one final time to punch Charlie in the face as retaliation, giving him a black eye.
