Jermbomination is a minor antagonist in The Axolotl Sun's 2020 Roblox game, Regretevator. It is a mutated Jermpop found within the now-inoperative Jermpop Factory. If players arrive on its floor, they must keep quiet and hide away to get out, lest they face a grim demise.
Appearance[]
Jermbomination is a large hulking mass of living ice cream vaguely taking the form of a humanoid cat. Its right ear is mostly absent while the left curls in on itself, small holes appear where the gumdrop eyes should go, and his mouth is ajar to reveal two rows of sharp teeth. Jermbomination has a "tail" made up of a sole popsicle stick, with part of it cracked off and Axolotl Sun's logo carved into its upper side. Most of his body is covered in a muddy brown texture
Biography[]
Jermbomination's creation is unknown, with the floppy disc found in Jermbo's room giving no indication as to how it formed. The aftermath, however, is clear as day, with the factory shutting down and employees being laid off due to the monster, with employees warned to not come back due to "unexpected circumstances". A few of the remaining employees were aware of Jermbomination's existence, with a few suggesting to just torch the place to the ground. It's been over a year since the email the floppy disc contained was sent, and by this point, any hope of ridding the place of the living Jermpop was abandoned, and the item was discontinued.
The Jermpop Factory is one of the many locations that players can visit by random chance. If the Jermpop Factory is selected, players are immediately warned of Jermbomination's presence, and are tasked with finding and pressing a plethora of buttons across the map to shut down the factory. During this time, Jermbomination will hunt down and attempt to kill any players it comes across, destroying parts of the facility that it gets too close to. Jermbomination is near-sighted, but has the hearing to immediately tell where a button has been pushed, rushing to that location to try to seek out the ones who disturbed the factory. If Jermbomination successfully finds and attacks a player, they will die instantly as Jermbomination jumpscares them, ending their run.
If all buttons are pushed within the time limit, the Jermpop Factory explodes with Jermbomination still inside. Before any damage can be done, all remaining players are teleported back into the elevator, out of harm's way. Whether or not Jermbomination survives is unclear, and how the factory is completely repaired if players visit again is left unknown due to the mysterious nature of the game's titular elevator. If players fail to press all the buttons in time, they are simply teleported away and move on to the next floor, leaving the Jermpop Factory intact.
Trivia[]
- Jermbomination was created by Squeaks D'Corgeh, creator of Shipwrecked 64 and PolarDread.
- Jermbomination was heavily inspired by the Dwellers/Starlings, the main enemies from Shipwrecked 64. The way players hide from him (hiding in items scattered across the map), was lifted from that game, with the models of the barrels players can hide in being identical to Shipwrecked 64.
- Dying in Regretevator displays a randomized death message, with the list of available messages changing depending on the context. Dying on the Jermpop Factory floor has the chance to say that the deceased:
- ...wasn't silent.
- ...was caught by an abomination.
- ...was too loud.
- ...should not have done that.
- ...was found by something.
- ...wasn't careful at all.
- ...wasn't quiet.
- ...forgot to Duck and Cover.
- This furthers the reference to Shipwrecked 64 and the Dwellers, who use an edited version of the titular song from the PSA Duck and Cover as a theme when chasing Bucky.
- Jermbomination can enter the elevator and kill NPCs if encountered. That being said, the only known NPC that Jermbomination is able to kill is Bive.
- Jermbomination's name is a portmanteau of "Jermbo" (the character who Jermpops are based on) and "Abomination".
- Jermbomination is incapable of harming players if they hide in an object, even if the spotted them prior to them hiding.
