~ Jerry, to the flamingos, after their performance is rejected by Jimmy. |
Jerry is the secondary antagonist of Illumination’s 11th animated feature film, Sing 2. He is an anthropomorphic fat cat who works tirelessly as the loyal assistant of Jimmy Crystal.
He was voiced by his uncredited voice actor Adam Spiegel.
Appearance[]
Jerry is a fat cat with light brown fur with dark stripes. He wears a magenta suit over a light purple business shirt, a red-and-yellow striped tie, and black shoes.
Personality[]
Jerry is Jimmy Crystal's right-hand man who sucks up to him, catering to his every whim despite the abuse Jimmy puts him through. He is also very loyal to his boss and shows to be willing to do anything to get on his good side. He is also very supportive of Crystal and does genuinely care for him.
Sing 2[]
He is first seen in the film assisting Jimmy Crystal with the show's auditions. As it appears that all of the performers have auditioned, Jerry feels insulted for keeping his boss waiting. As a result, he tells Buster Moon and his troupe that it's their turn when he sees them peering out from behind the curtains. Jerry sees Mr. Crystal initially reject Buster's group but then appears equally as intrigued by Buster's pitch for Out of This World. Jimmy gives Jerry the go-ahead to provide Buster's group everything they require for their performance after the idea is approved.
The next scene depicts Jerry always being with Jimmy. He also makes an effort to win Jimmy over by doing things like cheering for his daughter Porsha Crystal when she performs "Girl On Fire" and blindly obeying his commands.
When Buster is called into Jimmy's office so the latter can reprimand the former for lying to him about knowing Clay Calloway, Jerry is called on to clean up the mess that Jimmy caused in rage, in which he says that he's happy go help him on.
Later, he is in Jimmy's office when Porsha cries about being "fired" by Buster, while she wasn't fired at all. As the koala walks down scared down the hall to Jimmy's office, Jerry looks up while typing away on the computer. Buster looks at him and Jerry slowly shakes his head disapprovingly.
When Jimmy fails to throw Buster off the office balcony, Jerry interrupts him by reminding him of his scheduled appearance on "Hot News" and suggesting that they "put a pin" on the current situation. Jimmy then locks Buster in his closet and plans to finish him off later. He and Jerry go on Linda Le Bon's show.
After they both left, Suki Lane frees Buster and advises him and his group to skip town. Backstage at "Hot News", Jimmy tells his assistant to bring a snack from his office, which he does, but then notices that the office door is open, causing him to scream in fear of his boss's reaction. He brings Jimmy a snack and quietly informs him of Buster's escape. Jimmy is angry but keeps his anger in check when he appears on a talk show.
After a while, he wakes up from sleeping at his desk to find Buster and his group organizing the "Out of This World" behind Jimmy's back. Despite Jimmy's thugs trying to stop Jerry, he goes to Jimmy's mansion to report it to his boss, who angrily gets out of bed without any clothes on and scares the cat.
Jerry, Jimmy, Suki, and Jimmy's security guards travel in a limo on their way to the Crystal Tower Hotel. When they arrive, Big Daddy and his gang stop them. Jimmy's guards get into a fight with a band of goons while Jerry and Suk watch. When Jimmy goes backstage and can't get Porsha off the stage, Buster gets him trapped in the basement. Jimmy calls Jerry on his phone and tells him where he is, to which Jerry says he's coming to rescue him. Jerry breaks the cage with a bolt and frees an enraged Jimmy.
After "Out of This World" ends, Linda Le Bon finds Jimmy backstage, congratulates him and calls him a genius, to which Jerry appears and agrees.
Towards the end of the film, he shows absolute loyalty to Jimmy when he is arrested. Jerry pursues his boss, trying to claim that Jimmy is innocent and saying he loves him. What happens after is unknown, but Jerry most likely was either fired from Crystal Entertainment or was reassigned to work for a new boss.
