Lieutenant CT-5597, nicknamed "Jesse", is a supporting character in the 2008-2020 animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Due to the initiation of Order 66, he later served as the main antagonist of the series finale "Victory and Death", therefore making him the final antagonist of the whole show.
Like the rest of the clones, he was also voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who also voiced Admiral Trench in the same series.
Jesse was a clone trooper who served in the 501st Legion division of the Grand Army of the Republic, under the command of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex. During the first year of the Clone Wars, Jesse participated in the Battle of Saleucami. He also fought in the Battle of Umbara, during which he served General Pong Krell, who attempted to have him executed. Jesse was present with members of his own legion and survivors from the 212th Batallion when Krell was later executed for treason. He again fought in the Battle of Ringo Vinda. By the time of the Battle of Anaxes, Jesse was promoted to the rank of ARC Trooper.
Towards the last few days of the war, Jesse participated in the Siege of Mandalore, this time under the command of Ahsoka Tano and Rex, who was promoted to Commander. Jesse was briefly captured by Maul, before the former Sith Lord was defeated and captured by the Republic. En route to Coruscant, where Maul was supposed to stand trial, Emperor Palpatine initiated Order 66, activating all the clones' inhibitor chips and making them turn against the Jedi. While Jesse hunted for Ahsoka, she managed to free Maul to distract the clones and then removed Rex's inhibitor chip, restoring his free will. Jesse and the rest of the clone troopers then confronted Tano and Rex in the hangar bay. Despite Rex's attempt to reason him, Jesse accused Rex of treason against the Republic and demoted him, before declaring both Rex and Ahsoka to be executed. However, Maul had already damaged the hyperdrive of the Star Destroyer they were on, causing the ship to crash on a moon, killing Jesse and the other clones save for Rex, who had escaped with Tano. Jesse, alongside all of his men, were buried by Ahsoka and Rex on the aforementioned moon, as they understood the clones had not acted on their own free will.
