~ Jester refusing to give Tryu the Chaos Crown.
The day was just like any other. But he snapped. Something went wrong. Trust me, you do not want to mess with him.
~ A pawn presumably explaining the origins of Chaos Kingdom to Tryu.

Jester is the main antagonist of the Roblox video game Tower Heroes and the Chaos End UGC ARG.

Biography[]

Tower Heroes[]

Jester appears as the main antagonist and final boss of "Chaos Kingdom" in Challenge Mode, fought on wave 40. At first, the boss seems unwinnable due to having 2.5 million HP, however after 100,000 health is depleted, the heroes get a major stat boost, making the fight winnable. After his defeat, Jester congratulates the heroes before cursing them forever with his presence and becomes an unlockable tower, allowing him to continue to cause chaos with no comeuppance.

Chaos End ARG[]

In the Chaos End ARG, despite being the main antagonist, Jester only appears physically in the final battle. He serves as the boss of the game "Hallway". Throughout Hallway, the protagonist Tryu encounters NPC's who give more lore about Jester and the Chaos Kingdom. Tryu mentions that they "don't know how they got there" and want to go home, to which a villager explains that nobody can leave and some have tried. Furthermore, the villager explains that the only one who can free them is the same person who brought them there in the first place, revealing Jester kidnapped them. A pawn who presumably went insane states that "the prison will hold him no longer", revealing that Jester was imprisoned somehow. Another pawn mentions that their friends and "the castle" are gone, suggesting that Chaos Kingdom was peaceful until an "incident". Tryu, ignoring the warnings of the other prisoners, proceeds to open the gate leading to Jester's "prison". After 3 keys are found in hidden puzzles around the kingdom, the room leading to Jester himself is unlocked. Jester, assuming Tryu was sent by someone to steal the Chaos Crown, refuses to give it up, claiming that "he needs it more than Tryu does" and that he found it first. After being defeated in a 3 phase boss fight, Jester disappears and the player can claim a Chaos Crown as a UGC reward (now unobtainable). Jester's fate afterwards is inconclusive, however it is likely that he was revived and became the Jester seen in Tower Heroes (assuming the ARG takes place before the events of the game). It is also possible that Jester could return in the upcoming chapter 2 of Hallway.

Appearance[]

Jester takes many forms as he appears in Tower Heroes and the Chaos End ARG.

Boss/Level 5[]

Jester as a boss (and at level 5 as a tower) appears as a purple figure with X shaped eyes and two white disembodied hands. He wears a purple and black fool's cap and outfit. He also has a torn purple cape. As a tower, he also holds a spin wheel which he uses when choosing a random effect.

Level 1[]

At level 1, Jester is a white round head and wears a white and pink jester hat. He also has a pink ruffled collar and black shoes. When choosing a random effect, he flips a coin.

Level 2[]

At level 2, Jester becomes slightly taller and has pink skin. He wears a red and gray jester hat and collar. When choosing a random effect, he rolls a 6-sided die.

Level 3[]

At level 3, Jester's skin becomes more pink and his clothes now follow a red and black color scheme. He also holds a card.

Level 4[]

At level 4, Jester's appearance becomes more "distorted". He now follows a purple and black color scheme and fragments that presumably come from his body are seen around him. When choosing a random effect, he rolls a 20-sided die.

Chaos End ARG[]

In the Chaos End ARG, Jester's appearance is similar to his level 5/boss appearance, however he is much taller and his skin is pure black.

Personality[]

In Tower Heroes, Jester taunts the heroes throughout his boss fight, claiming that there's no way they could possibly defeat him. However, after all of his health is depleted, he claims that the battle was "fun", before cursing the heroes, showing his chaotic nature.

In the Chaos End ARG, Jester is often described by NPCs as "someone who cannot be reasoned with", with one villager even claiming that Jester "lost his mind".

Quotes[]

You never really stood a chance against me!
~ Jester talking to the Player during his fight in Chaos Kingdom.
There's no way you could possibly win!!
~ Jester before the heroes receive the boost.
What fun! To think you could actually defeat me! You shall be forever cursed with my presence!
~ Jester after his "defeat" in Chaos Kingdom.

Trivia[]

  • Jester is often considered to be the main antagonist of Tower Heroes due to his unique boss fight, only competing with Sylvia for this role. Furthermore, it is commonly theorized that Jester may be responsible for the "corruption" mentioned throughout the game, or may have connections to Demise, the true final boss of Challenge Mode.
  • In Tower Heroes, Jester is the only Challenge Mode boss to not have an unlockable modifier, making his fight exclusive to this mode. However, this is likely because his stat boost would be difficult to implement and could be abused by players.
  • It is unknown if the Jester seen in "Hallway" is the same Jester seen in Tower Heroes.
  • Jester is one of the only Tower Heroes bosses to not be killed or destroyed in some way after his defeat (alongside the Void Reaper).
  • After his defeat in Hallway, Jester's face is still seen until the player claims the Chaos Crown and enters the ending cutscene. It is unknown if this is intentional or not, however if it is intentional it could support the idea of Jester surviving.
  • It was confirmed that Tower Heroes content is planned for Pixel-Bit's upcoming game Super Bloxy Hills, meaning Jester could possibly return, giving him a role outside of Tower Heroes.
  • In older versions of Tower Heroes, Jester's boost was much weaker, adding difficulty to Jester's fight. It is likely that this was buffed due to towers becoming notably much weaker after balance changes and to make it fit Jester's chaotic nature by making him a joke boss.
  • Jester makes many references to the indie games Undertale and Deltarune.
    • In older versions, one of this skins, "The Lad", was a reference to Jevil.
    • Jester's laugh and talking sounds are taken from Flowey.
