Jester Garandros is one of the secondary antagonists of the 2023 anime fantasy movie Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King. He was the 16th Wizard of the Clover Kingdom who sought out to prevent tragedies after losing two of his friends from such events, before being exiled and killed, due to his disliked influence amongst the royals.
He is later revived by Conrad Leto, along with Princia Funnybunny and Edward Avalaché, all of which team up together to recreate the world into a better place for everyone.
He is voiced by Fumiya Takahashi in Japanese, who best known as Aruto Hiden from Kamen Rider Zero-One. And in English voiced by Benjamin Diskin, who known as Tobirama Senju child from Naruto.
Appearance[]
Jester is a man of a muscular build with messy white hair, orange eyes and often carries a sadistic smirking expression. He wears a luxury european outfit that consist of dark blue furs surrounding her neck then white-colored ones around her shoulder and right side of his upper body with many badges of different sizes attached to it. Underneath his fur he has a long turquoise fabric that arrives down at his ankles. He also has a long white fur cape on his back and a large hand bag on him.
Personality[]
Out of the three Wizard Kings that Conrad revived, Jester appears to be the most playful and joyful one among them. He comes off being very egotistical and arrogant of his power, while looking down upon those that oppose him. He believes himself to be much like Conrad in terms of their goals and motive, and because of this, he is all the more willing to help him create their ideal world of peace.
Despite his frivolous behavior, he is cunningly smart and strategic, as demonstrated when utilizing his Barrier Magic effectively against his foes. He also appears to be someone that is easily entertained in battle, as the moment Yuno and the Magic Knight captains are able to push him to his limits, Jester acknowledges them as such and goes as far to resort his trump card on them.
However, his arrogance does prove to be his downfall in this regard, as he takes too much pride in his own abilities, without ever considering the possibilities of his opponents being strong enough to defeat him. He also is more than willing to disregard his task of protecting the fortress, just for the sake of being able to go all out on his enemies. When he realizes that his opponents do live up to their potential, he expresses great enjoyment and encourages them to continue giving it their all.

Past[]
Jester was born into a noble family where he suffered no hardship & joined the Magic Knights where he met and befriended Tenor who came from a remote village near the Diamond Kingdom and Raid from the Common Realm, despite their different social status and background, who pushed each other to improve and grow together. Shortly after Jester is appointed Magic Knight captain, Tenor's village is invaded by the Diamond Kingdom and the Clover Kingdom can't make a move to protect a remote village. Jester and his squad decided to rescue the village on their own and succeed despite the odds, but Tenor is killed in battle.
After the battle, Jester achieved so much as a captain that he eventually became the Wizard King to prevent more deaths like Tenor's. One day, Tenor's village came under attack again by the enemy and Jester rushed to the rescue, but it turned out to be a trap set up by Raid, who was an undercover Diamond Kingdom spy, to kill Jester. While heartbroken by Raid's betrayal, Jester manages to save the village and kill the ambushers, including Raid whom Jester still saw as his friend.
After losing both Tenor and Raid, Jester saw their deaths as a product of the wars with opposing kingdoms and began a campaign to conquer the four kingdoms to prevent further tragedy & bring everlasting peace between all the kingdoms. Despite being called the "Mad King" for his ambitions he managed to gradually earn the support of the people over fostering peace across the four kingdoms. Jester however fell into a trap set by a royal faction who disliked his growing influence over the people and lost his life in the process of achieving his goal.

- Barrier Magic: Jester possesses this unique magic, which allows him to summon barriers. He can also manipulate manipulate obstacles to defend against other attacks, as well as summon countless amount of weapons to fire them at his enemies.
