~ One his common quotes in the Project Nexus 2. |
Dr. Jebediah Christoff, better known as Jesus Christ or "The Savior", is a major antagonist in the Madness Combat franchise. He is the arch-rival of Hank J. Wimbleton.
He was an agent for the Agency Against Hank Wimbleton, who was sent from unknown regions to restore order to Nevada by killing Hank J. Wimbleton, who had caused an excessive violence throughout the region. He later defected from the A.A.H.W. and undertook the mission to destroy the Improbability Drives. Though he ultimately died during his defection against the Auditor, he succeeded in bringing about the destruction of one of the Drives, commencing a Normality Restoration event that is ongoing, and will conclude when the other drives are destroyed or otherwise incapacitated.
Biography[]
Project Nexus (Classic)[]
It was revealed that before events of main series Jebus was chief scientist within Nexus-Core and founder of Sleepwalker Program. However, later on he strongly regret his work for Nexus-Core after realising that its leader was going to destroy world for sake of greater power and his Program only drastically contributed into his plans. Thus he decided to convince own colleagues to go against Director Phobos and save Nevada.
Madness Combat 1[]
Jesus first appeared after Hank had taken out all the grunts who had attacked him and revived two of them as Zombies, but Hank dispatched them as well. Jesus then tried to summon a cannon to kill him, firing it several times, but he was killed after letting his guard down.
Madness Combat 2: Redeemer[]
Serving as the Sheriff's right-hand man, He confronted Hank in a room with an elevator and revived a number of grunts to kill his foe. After Hank managed to get to the Sheriff, he reappeared and shot him with a desert eagle, preventing him from killing the Sheriff.
Madness Combat 3: Avenger[]
After Hank renewed his mission to kill the Sheriff, Jesus confronted him again and fought him for awhile before being shot in the chest and disappearing. However he reappeared and stabbed Hank in the chest, but he was shot in the face with a shotgun before Hank killed the Sheriff and then died.
Madness Combat 4: Apotheosis[]
Following his death by being shot by Hank, Jesus was revived by the Improbability Drive, now bearing stitches on his head from where he had been shot, and had gained his iconic sunglasses.
Even with the Sheriff dead, Jesus was still a key member of the A.A.H.W, and was determined to kill Hank. He headed to Club M, which Hank was in the process of raiding. Jesus revived the first 1337 agent that had been killed as a zombie, then entered the dance hall, where Hank had slaughtered all the Grunts and was holding Tricky at sword point. Jesus revived the Grunts as more zombies, but Hank killed them all, then despatched the agent zombie. Hank fought Jesus, attempting to use his Dragon Sword against Jesus's Binary Sword, but was promptly shot twice in the head and body. However, in his last moments Hank was able to take Jesus with him, as he pulled out a detonator and activated it, blowing both of them to pieces using a bomb he was carrying.
Madness Combat 5: Depredation[]
Jesus decided that it was time to duel Hank once again, arriving while Hank was busy fighting his way through a facility full of Agents. Jesus blew open the building and revived the dead agents as a team of Zombies, then engaged Hank in combat.
The fight found its way to a valley where Tricky attempted to join the battle, but was shot by Hank. However this caused Tricky to go berserk, and he smacked both Hank and Jesus out of complete rage. Tricky proceeds to kill Jesus by slashing half of his head off his body, and then proceeds to kill Hank by by ripping his head off and smashing it against the ground.
Tricky then makes the peace sign in recognition of his victory against Hank and Jesus.
Madness Combat 5.5[]
Jesus made a brief cameo in this episode. Tricky attempted to replace the missing top half of his head with the half of Jesus' head, possibly in an attempt to gain his powers. However, he didn't have access to Jesus's powers as he lacked the savior's Halo. Angrily exclaiming "HOW COME THIS DOES NOT WORK?", Tricky threw the top half of Jesus's head away.
Madness Combat 6: Antipathy[]
Jesus made another cameo in this episode. He was seen during the train sequence, raking leaves next to the train tracks, without his halo and wearing a t-shirt that said, "I'm Jebus lol. This is as dressed up as I get.".
Madness Combat 6.5[]
Jesus was seen briefly in this episode, where it was revealed that he had survived having half his head ripped off by Tricky thanks to his Halo. He located the other half of his head and put it back on, using the Halo to repair the damage. After that, he wrote a message informing the AAHW that he intended to quit working for the organisation, an act which was observed on a monitor by The Auditor.
Madness Combat 7: Consternation[]
After Hank was thrown out of a building by Tricky's demon form, he landed near an Agent and two Engineers, who had been tasked by Tricky with repairing his Portable Improbability Drive, which had been damaged by Hank earlier in the episode. Jesus then arrived on the scene and shot dead the three AAHW operatives, before drawing his Binary Sword. As Hank was too injured to continue, Jesus opted to deliver a mercy kill, stabbing him with the sword, then saying "Goodnight, Hank." as he shot him with his revolver, finally killing Hank once again.
Tricky then arrived, and was infuriated that Jesus had stolen his kill from him, but Jesus wasn't done just yet. Before Tricky could react, Jesus shot the Portable Improbability Drive with his revolver, deactivating it and forcing Tricky back into his regular zombie form, whereupon Jesus then killed him as well by driving his sword deep into Tricky's head and slicing away at it.
Madness Combat 8: Inundation[]
With Hank dead, Jesus continued his true mission; to destroy The Auditor's Improbability Drive and initiate the Normality Restoration. After taking his sunglasses off to reveal his bloodshot eyes, he headed for the Auditor's lair to destroy the Improbability Drives and end the chaos. After being fired on by the Auditor with his mini gun, Jesus was infected with a virus that weakened him and made him vomit blood. As he fought his way through the building, he battled two Mag Agent V2s. Jesus finally confronted the Auditor and attempted to destroy the Improbability Drive. However, his enemy fired a bazooka at him in an attempt to finish him off. But though he was killed, Jesus succeeded in commencing the Normality Restoration.
Madness Combat 9: Aggregation[]
Following the initiation of the Normality Restoration, Jesus had been killed by the burst of energy, resulting in his face and most of the front of his torso being blown open. Jesus’s Halo had also been damaged by the event, but remained mostly intact. Noticing Jesus’s corpse, the Auditor approached and took the Halo for himself, gaining its powers as he placed it atop his head. As he did so, the halo changed colour from gold to bright red, signifying that it was now under the full control of the Auditor.
Madness: Project Nexus[]
In episode 1.5 of the video game, which serves as a prequel to episode 1, Jesus' origins are explored. It is shown that he was originally Dr. Christoff, the head scientist of Project Nexus, until he became horrified with what he had created and rebelled against the project and its benefactor, Phobos, who sought to use the project to rule over Nevada. Teaming up with his fellow scientist Dr. Hofnarr and taking the Nexus Halo artifact, Dr. Christoff took up the identity of "The Savior" and sought to bring down the project.
Madness: Project Nexus 2[]
Jesus / Dr. Christoff appears as one of the playable characters of the game. He encounters Hank J. Wimbleton and, due to a misunderstanding, the two fight before teaming up to take down the Nexus Core.
Powers and Abilities[]
Jesus has a number of supernatural powers, the most used one being his power to bring people back as zombies, which he uses to resurrect people Hank kills to try and kill him again. Jesus can also create a powerful energy shield that he can sometimes use to stop bullets, but keep their kinetic speed and fire them back at people. This shield initially took the form of a black cross, but later appeared as a bright red circle. He can also "dissolve" people with a red beam fired from his hands or eyes. Jesus also has incredible physical strength. as seen when he picked up several metal crates to throw at people. He possesses the power of teleportation, as seen in Madness Combat 1 and 3. He also can summon his sword from out of nowhere and use telekinesis. Aside from his supernatural powers, Jesus is skilled with firearms and at hand-to-hand fighting. His two signature weapons are his Binary Sword, which he uses in combination with two signature handguns used throughout the series; a Desert Eagle, later switched out for an S&W 500 revolver. Jesus is also experienced in using long-range weapons, as he uses a McMillan TAC-50 sniper rifle in Madness Combat 8: Inundation during the intro sequence.

Trivia[]
- Jesus seems to have a respect for Hank despite wanting to kill him and fights him fairly.
- Jesus was stated to have gone the “way of the Sheriff” by Krinkels
- He is the only Madness character to appear in every episode of the series in some form or another, at least for the first nine episodes.
- As stated by Krinkels, Jesus is a pretty violent guy (as we have undoubtedly seen throughout the series), and doesn't strike him as a touchy-feeling type.
- The writing on Jesus' sword is binary. Translated it reads "316", referring to 3:16 in the Bible, which is "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only son. That who ever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
- Jesus deals with significant amount of cognitive dissonance, he has a skewing understanding of good and evil and is also egoistical.
