Jim Burns

Jim Burns is a character in Oz He is a biker inmate at Oswald Maximum Penitentiary. He is convicted for the murder of his brother and like all bikers is chummy with The Aryan Brotherhood.

Season 2

Burns refuses to help Vern Schillinger kill Tobias Beecher when Vern worries Beecher will ruin his parole out of fear for Beecher. When Jaz Hoyt comes to Oz Burns becomes his sponsor.

Season 3

Burns has an even smaller role this season spending most of his time in the background. He is seen supporting Steve Pasquin  during the boxing tournament.

Season 4

Burns becomes a more prominent character this season. He mocks reverend Jeremiah Cloutier during one of his sermons. Cloutier then exercised Burns. However Burns became obsessive and violently attacked non christians. He and Timmy Kirk attempted to bully Padraig Conolly into attending a sermon. They are stopped by Ryan O'Reily and Cloutier who casts Kirk out of his congregation. Burns helps Kirk seal Cloutier into a wall.

Season 5

Cloutier survives due to the gas explosion caused in the previous season by O'Reilly. Kirk tasks  Burns with killing Cloutier but he refuses as Cloutier was the one who brought him to God. Kirk then says he will kill him if he does not take out Cloutier.

Burns has a vision of Cloutier telling him to kill Kirk. Burns then tries this but is killed by Kirk in self-defense.
