James "Jim" Lahey is the main antagonist of the show Trailer Park Boys.
He is the main antagonist of the first season, the secondary antagonist of the second season, the main antagonist of the third, fourth, fifth seasons, one of the secondary antagonists turned supporting protagonist in the sixth season (alongside Randy), a supporting protagonist in the first half and one of the two main antagonists (alongside Conky) of the second half of the seventh season, one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Sam Losco) of the eighth season, a supporting protagonist in the ninth and tenth seasons, one of the two main antagonists (alongside George Green) of the eleventh season and a supporting protagonist in the twelfth season. In the movie installments, he is the main antagonist of the Trailer Park Boys Christmas Special, the central antagonist of Trailer Park Boys: The Movie, the main antagonist of Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day, Trailer Park Boys: Don't Legalize it, Trailer Park Boys: Live at the North Pole, and a minor character in Trailer Park Boys: Drunk, High & Unemployed. He also appears as a posthumous major character in Trailer Park Boys: The Animated Series.
He is the supervisor of Sunnyvale Trailer Park Julian, Ricky, and Bubbles' rival and constantly tries to get them arrested or otherwise kicked out of the trailer park.
He is also an alcoholic and in a homosexual relationship with his overweight assistant Randy. In season 6, he and the boys reach an agreement where he overlooks and even hides their criminal activities.
He was portrayed by the late John Dunsworth.
Prior to the series, Lahey was a police officer. On October 1977 Halloween night, Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles were dressed as Wookies and C3PO, decided to release the parking brake on his patrol car, and push it into a trailer. Dealing with them, he took their booze away, and in trying to move his car, he spilled it on himself.
When George Green arrive (Lahey's former police partner) at the scene, George thought Lahey was drunk and crash his police car into the trailer, causing Lahey to lose his job as a cop.
According to Bubbles, Ricky and Julian before Lahey lost his job, he was a good and kind person, and that they are most likely partly responsible.
- In season one, he sported a mustache, but that disappeared in season two.
