Jimmy Yan (ジミー・ヤン Jimī Yan) is an minor antagonist in the first Shenmue game by Sega. He is a member of the Mad Angels gang and the manager of Asia Travel Company, a travel agency in Dobuita that has a bad reputation.
He was voiced by Hiroyuki Nakata in Japanese and Gregg Ladd in English.
Biography[]
Jimmy and Asia Travel scammed the protagonist Ryo Hazuki and gave him no Hong Kong ticket even though he paid. He even got Chai to ambush him at the You Arcade and eat the ticket.
After all this, when Ryo confronted Jimmy, he cowardly ran through Dobuita with Ryo chasing him through the street.
Jimmy also has a wife and kids, although he cheated on his wife with an employee at the Asia Travel, Etsuko Sekine.
Trivia[]
- Jimmy and the part of the story of him scamming Ryo was cut from the series anime adaption, Shenmue the Animation. This was most likely due to this part being filler and not really essential to the main story. It was even removed from Shenmue: The Movie, which was a movie featuring most of the cutscenes and main scenes from the game.
