The Jingweon Mafia is a major antagonistic faction within the Like a Dragon (Ryū ga Gotoku, formerly known as Yakuza in the west) franchise, serving as the main antagonists in Yakuza 2 (and its remake, Yakuza Kiwami 2) and major antagonists in Yakuza 6: Song of Life.

They were a Korean criminal organization who wanted vengeance against the Tojo Clan, due to them being massacred by the orders of one of the Tojo Clan members, Sohei Dojima.

History[]

The Jingweon Mafia started in South Korea be that as it may, during the 1970's it set up a solid footing in Tokyo's black market, where it in the long run became foes with that city's supreme neighborhood wrongdoing coop, the Tojo Clan.

The mafia itself comprises of all around prepared agents, prepared close by to-hand battle and weapon utilization. Their essential type of clothing comprises of dim dressing, much of the time with battle boots and military camo.

It's renowned for their "demise before disrespect" statement of faith, in which the mafia's agents are obliged to end it all as opposed to living in shame for neglecting to convey their missions. To do this, Jingweon agents for the most part wear a ring which contains a noxious powder covered up inside its gem crown. Moreover, the homicide of any individual from the Jingweon must be taken care of with the homicide of their executioner, in case the whole association be disgraced.

During the late 1970's, the Jingweon and the Tojo had gotten into a years-in length war for command over the Tokyo black market and, by 1980, the Tojo Clan was losing. Be that as it may, Dojima Family patriarch Sohei Dojima got data recommending that the Jingweon's authority would go to a gathering in the distribution center behind one of their clubs in Christmas of 1980. Taking advantage of on the lucky break, Dojima sent a detachment of professional killers drove by his two lieutenants, Shintaro Kazama and Futoshi Shimano, to take out the Jingweon's pioneers.

Kazama, hesitant to submit such a slaughter, attempted to caution the Jingweon pioneer so he would escape town before the slaughter could start. In any case, Kazuma Kiryu, Kazama's protege who hosted tailed him to the distribution center gathering, erroneously accepted that the Jingweon Boss was attempting to murder Kazama and mediated, assaulting him. Kazama continued to slaughter the Jingweon pioneer to secure Kiryu and, hearing his discharges, Shimano and the remainder of the Dojima professional killers got a move on started slaughtering the remainder of the Jingweon pioneers present.

36 individuals from the Jingweon were executed in what came to be known as the "Kamurocho Christmas Massacre", including the aggregate of the Jingweon's pioneers and a significant number of their protectors. Of those present at the slaughter, just five Jingweon endure: three youthful guardians whom Kazama had compassion for and helped escape, called Daejin Kim, Yeongmin Ji and Murai; and the supervisor's significant other, Suyeon Jung, and her little youngster, who were helped by the primary cop on the scene, Jiro Kawara.

After the slaughter, the Jingweon were believed to be cleared out in Japan. Notwithstanding, Kim and Ji sought refuge, promising to one day get into contact with the Jingweon's territory association to plot their retribution against the Tojo Clan. Said plan came to be 26 years after the Christmas Massacre, in 2006.

By that year, Kim (living under the nom de plume of "Yukio Terada") had invaded the Tojo Clan and ascended to turn into it's fifth executive, while Ji (under the name "Wataru Kurahashi") had become the Tokyo Metropolitan Police's director for the Foreign Affairs Division. Kim faked his own homicide by Omi Alliance professional killers so as to start a war between the Tojo and the Omi, in the expectations that it would at last annihilate the debilitated Tojo Clan. So as to help that annihilation, the Jingweon additionally arranged a huge number of bombs that they expected to put all over Tojo Clan organizations in Tokyo and explode them when the Omi Alliance made their move against them.

Tragically for the Jingweon, Kiryu and is partners, Kaoru Sayama, Makoto Date and Jiro Kawara found the Jingweon's arrival and started to reveal their plans. Ji was in the end found as an infiltrator and murdered by Sayama during an encounter in Millenium Tower. Moreover, the bombs were additionally found and defused before they could be exploded by Goro Majima and his development organization.

At the point when the Omi Alliance attack neglected to kill the Tojo, Kim made direct move and chose to kill Kiryu, Sayama and the Tojo's administration actually. He uncovered is ploy to Kiryu by appearing after his battle with Ryuji Goda on the Kamurocho Hills building site and, alongside a company of Jingweon professional killers, attempted to execute him. In any case, Kiryu and Sayama figured out how to overcome him and his powers. Kim would not long after being executed by Ryo Takashima, the head of Omi home office who had been going about as his witness however who chose to deceive him so as to take power for himself.

The mafia returned for a second time in 2016, presently drove by Joon-gi Han, who holds an individual resentment against Kiryu for what occurred in 1980.
