Joey Rosselini is the main antagonist of the 1989 film Next of Kin.
He was portrayed by Adam Baldwin, who played James Wilkins in The Patriot, Marcus Hamilton in Angel, Breakdown in Transformers: Prime and The King in Radio Flyer.
Personality[]
Joey is a cunning and evil mobster working for his uncle John Isabella. He is the one who murdered Truman Gates's younger brother, Gerald, in the back of a truck and he will stop at nothing to wipe the Gates brothers from existence.
Biography[]
Joey is first introduced when Gerald Gates takes a job as a truck driver after a local coal mine closed down. He and his men hijack the truck and Rosselini murders Gerald at point-blank range.
After the murder, Truman's brother Briar vows to get revenge against Rosselini for Gerald's death. That night, Rosselini and his men were having a Chinese meal at their hideout when they are held up by Briar, who proceeded to shoot up the arcade pinball machines, the food and a cooler. Then Rosselini points out that Briar made the worst mistake of his life, but Briar counters that Rosselini already had before saying that "work around here is going to be no fun at all".
The next morning, Joey decided not to press charges against Briar, saying the he will prefer to "handle things" himself. After seeing John Isabella's son Lawrence rushes him to get help, Rosselini betrays and shoots Lawrence dead. Before Joey can go with Isabella's plan, Briar tracks down the hideout and engages Rosselini's crew in a gun battle, during Rosselini guns down Briar twice. After finding out about what happened, Truman races in the room to find Briar, who later dies in Truman's arms, leading Truman to resign from the police force to handle Rosselini himself.
Shortly after Lawrence's funeral, Rosselini and his men were in a Chinese restaurant where Rosselini implies that he will "miss this part of the job". Before they can leave, they discover another mobster Leo, who was tossed through the door by Truman and informs them to meet Truman by the cemetery. As Rosselini heads out the restaurant, he discovers his car's windshield had been painted and read "You forgot one", causing Rosselini to let out a furious outburst.
Later on, Rosselini and his men head to a cemetery, where Truman informs Rosselini that he forgot to kill Truman right after he set a trap against Briar. After a fierce battle, Truman and Rosselini engage in a fistfight, only for John Isabella to show up who says "This is for killing my son." and then shoots his nephew dead.
