Johannes Essaïdi is a major antagonist in the 2024 first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. He is one of the Guild's leaders and biggest broker, and the archenemy of the Guild's ex-assassin, Sevati "Sev" Dumas.

He was voiced by JB Blanc, who also voiced Enrico Maxwell in Hellsing, Nakeem Grindina in Bleach, Diablo in Diablo III, Bane in Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: The Enemy Within, Tower of Sauron in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Chuck Lorentz in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and Kano in Mortal Kombat 11.

Biography[]

Background[]

Johannes Essaïdi was presumably born in the 1930s and 1940s to unnamed parents, and became a mafia boss in Avalon. According to Sev's notes, has been in the Guild forever and is their crown jewel, becoming one of the faction's leaders and their biggest broker. In the late 60s to early 70s, he adopted Sevati "Sev" Dumas, an orphan he found on the streets of Avalon. He trained her into a formidable assassin. However, her allegiance changed when she fell for one of Essaïdi's other assassins, a man named Pascal.

Essaïdi wanted Sev to remain with the Guild so he manipulated her into believing he was a mole from another family. However, Sev learned the truth after killing Pascal, fled from the Guild and swore revenge against them. Around 1990, Pantheon agent Jane Harrow wanted an alliance with the Guild to expand the organization, and continually contacted Essaïdi.

Black Ops 6[]

On January 30th in 1991, Rogue Black Ops members Frank Woods and Troy Marshall needed an ally who could infiltrate undetected and discovered Sev from Russell Adler's records. They contacted her, but she would only assist them if they help her assassinate Essaïdi. William "Case" Calderon was sent in and they assassinated Yannik Dufour. After his death, Essaïdi orchestrated an emergency meeting at Chateau de la Haute Lune regarding Yannik's assassination. Sev infiltrated the Guilds headquarters while Case purposely got himself caught. Essaïdi ordered him to press his hands against the glass while a disguised Sev apprehended him. Sev then brought him before Essaïdi.

Essaïdi then ordered Case to be executed after being told by Harrow, however before Aminata Sy was able to, Sev shot her in the head and Essaïdi was double-crossed by the Pantheon. Omar Seghir then brought Essaïdi outside. After Omar was killed, Essaïdi got into a vehicle and began to drive away. However, Case and Sev detonated an explosive along the road, which exploded Essaïdi's vehicle, which caused the vehicle to burn, which caused Essaïdi to burn alive.
