John Radigan is one of the supporting antagonists of the Chicago P.D. episode "You Never Know Who's Who".
Background[]
He was a US Army Ranger, he was even in Afghanistan before the events of the episode, but John would retire without making it official until 6 months later. John along with another Army Ranger, named Clay Carlson, would be contacted by Ryan Bergstrom, Se supposed to be part of an internal CIA program called "Street Cleaner", this whole supposed program was invented by a former CIA agent, Victor Cullen. In truth, Victor was just an old man with a mental illness that made him believe that he was still in service in the CIA, so with Randy, John and Clay for the "Street Cleaner" domestic program, the "Street Cleaner" program consisted of assassinating alleged threats to the country, John participated in 3 homicides related to this alleged operation. The targets were all criminals: Eddie Diaz a gangbanger whose lawyer managed to beat a manslaughter charge of a little girl, Josh Henderson a hacker of drained the bank accounts of elderly people and was put on probation and Terrence Jenkins a serial rapist of underaged girls who walked because the victims didn't want to testify. Radigan would also steal an assault rifle along with Clay from a military reservation, a week before the episode Cullen dies of a heart attack.
You Never Know Who's Who[]
John, Clay and Ryan find out that Victor died, so they go to the morgue and steal his body, for Ryan to steal the supposed Chip that Cullen had inside his body, Ryan is arrested by the police and there they reveal all the information to him. hoax that it was the "Street Cleaner" program and also that Cullen was just a delusional old man, so he agrees to collaborate by delivering John and Clay, calling them to a place where they used to attend meetings to plan the homicides, but John would miss the meeting , wanting to finish the mission before that, the supposed meeting was a trap and Clay ends up dying from a shot by Antonio Dawson, John goes with his armored truck and anti-explosives to kill his next target, he gets in his truck and realizes that the police were following him, then a car chase begins, John drives through various places in the city, the police try to shoot his truck but it was fully armored, then they manage to get John to a certain place, where Kevin Atwater was waiting with a snowplow trailer, with which he rams John, causing his armored truck to overturn. This results in John being seriously injured tries to grab his gun, but Kevin Atwater stops him. John surrenders and talks to Kevin, telling him that he was making a serious mistake.
He is taken the police station they put him inside the cage, there Hank Voight talks to him and tells him that if the lawyer sees a way to drop the charges against John, they will even drop a murder charge because John, like Clay and Ryan were set up by someone mentally unstable. John ignores Voight's words and repeats that they were interfering with a CIA-sanctioned operation. Voight then asks John if he was the CIA, why had no one come looking for him. John replies that at some point they will, and when they do, they will take Voight's badge. However, Voight gave him a lecture that he has dealt with criminals his whole life and that he knows John is not a bad guy just a man looking for something to believe in and was simply misled. His words leave John pondering, before Voight heads out.
John presumably learned the truth and was subsequently incarcerated for all of his crimes.
