John Smith is the secondary antagonist of the 2015 action-thriller film Hitman: Agent 47 based on the video game series Hitman. He is a genetically enhanced operative who works for Syndicate International.
He was portrayed by Zachary Quinto, who also portrayed Dr. Oliver Thredson in American Horror Story: Asylum, Crosby Franklin in Hotel Artemis, and Charlie Manx in NOS4A2.
Biography[]
Smith was secretly sent by the Syndicate to Berlin, Germany to find and retrieve Katia van Dees in the subway station. He initially presents himself as an ally to Katia claiming that he was sent to protect her from Agent 47. Then 47 opens fire and the two fights between each other until they got away from him with the car, but not before 47 shoots Katia's arm with the bullet from the sniper that he uses.
When John hide out in the hotel room with Katia after her arm was shot for safety, Smith gave Katia an vital information which she used to determine which city her father was hiding in because of his age and having lung cancer, causing him to use inhaler till 47 breaks in the room, shoots Smith and kidnapped Katia.
As 47 and Katia fight against the Syndicate forces, they were confronted by Smith, whom revealed to be body surgically implanted subdermal body armor, making the bullets whatever shoots him impervious. However, they escaped from him by shooting the engine through a glass, causing it to exploded and knocks John out.
When Katia located his father along with 47 in Singapore while explaining to her why he left her, the Syndicate soldiers arrived with Smith to attacks the group and they flee. Unfortunately, Litvenko was captured by the Syndicate right after 47 give him a inhaler in his pocket. Later, Smith then tortures him under the supervision of the director named Le Clerq to reopen the program but refuses to do so until 47 hacks into the Syndicate announcing about the system while Katia crashes into the building with the helicopter when 47 secretly disguises himself as a firefighter to get inside without being detected, as Smith and 47 fights each other once again till when suddenly 47 electrocutes him with the wires.
During the mid-credits scene, Smith is revealed to be alive to exact revenge on Katia and 47.
