Johnny Ratface, also known as Johnny the Ratface, is a supporting antagonist in the 2012 video game Sleeping Dogs. He was a senior member of Dogeyes Lin's Jade Gang serving as Dogeyes' right-hand man and chief enforcer.

He was voiced by Vic Chao, who would later voice Goro in Mortal Kombat X.

Events of Sleeping Dogs

Johnny is first seen leaving Uncle Po's apartment having attended the conference between Uncle Po and Dogeyes. Prior to leaving he had apparently gotten into an argument with Ricky Wong.

Johnny and his fellow gang members were ordered by Dogeyes to pose as 18K Triad members, and attack the wedding of Winston Chu and Peggy Li. The attack is successful, but the unlucky Ratface's features are recognised by Wei Shen.

A week after the attack, Ratface is found by Wei who intends to question him about his role in the massacre. After fighting through waves upon waves of Ratface's men he is able to catch him. Ratface gets taken to the Golden Koi where Winston's mother Mrs. Chu pulls out a meat cleaver. Johnny begs and pleads for Wei to spare him, but he is too late as Mrs. Chu begins to hack him into pieces with her meat cleaver.

Whilst getting hacked up, Johnny confessed that Dogeyes had masterminded the attack at the wedding. After this his remains were made into a soup which then fed to Dogeyes prior to his murder.

Though Johnny claims to Wei that he has very powerful friends who will be furious when they find out about his death, Wei suffers no repercussions for his actions hinting that no one really liked Johnny anyway. Dogeyes seems to trust Ratface a lot as he is given his own crew to protect him at all times, and he also personally assigned Ratface the task of murdering Winston and Peggy at their wedding.

Nightmare in North Point

Along with Dogeyes and Ponytail, Johnny is one of the ghosts resurrected by Smiley Cat. Wei confronts him at the chop shop where he had pursued and captured him in the previous game. He again chases Johnny through the chop shop getting into a gun battle with panicked Jade Gang members, whom Johnny is terrorizing into supporting him. As Wei chases Johnny, a group of Jiang Shi confronts Wei. He defeats them destroying the energy source that Johnny had summoned. Wei then finally defeats Johnny sending him back to the underworld, but not before telling Johnny he was a rotting corpse even when he was alive.

Personality

According to Ricky Wong, Johnny Ratface is a lunatic, and leaves a mark on the conscious of his associates. Ratface was incredibly trusted and valued by Dogeyes as he accompanied Dogeyes to his meeting with Uncle Po and was given the difficult task of murdering Winston and Peggy at their wedding. Dogeyes then provided Johnny with his own crew.
