~ Johnny to Tommy Elliot |
Johnny Sabatino is a minor antagonist in season 1 of Batwoman. He is a gangster with connections to Tommy Elliot who appears as the main antagonist of "If You Believe In Me, I'll Believe In You".
He was portrayed by Carmine Giovinazzo.
Personality[]
Sabatino exhibits traits of a typical mobster as he is cold, stern, and ruthless especially when it comes to business. He looks out for his own interests above all else which is shown when he betrays his "friend" and business associate Tommy Elliot after realizing how valuable Lucius Fox's journal really was. Sabatino's greed is what inspired him to make a profit off a captured Batwoman by auctioning her gadgets, suit, and her very life to the highest bidder instead of simply killing her when he had the chance.
History[]
Overview[]
Johnny Sabatino is an infamous mobster in Gotham City who works as the manager of a night club called Lookout that had been owned by his friend Tommy Elliot. He is also Elliot's money launderer and keeper of Lucius Fox's journal that contains all of Bruce Wayne's secrets during his time as Batman including a way to penetrate the Batsuit.
"If You Believe In Me, I'll Believe In You"[]
Sabatino captures Batwoman and her accomplice Julia Pennyworth after they infiltrate Lookout to steal the journal back. Sabatino orders his men to put Julia in the backroom and to let the other crime families know that he is auctioning Batwoman to the highest bidder. In his office Sabatino receives a call from Elliot and thanks him for letting him known that Batwoman would try to steal the journal from him and betrays him by refusing to give it back to Tommy as it was far more valuable than he had been led to believe and hangs up the phone. At the auction, Johnny sells Batwoman's grappling gun to a mobster named Vasily Kosov and starts the bidding on Batwoman herself who eventually breaks free from her chains with Mary Hamilton's help. Sabatino is subdued by Batwoman and later sent to Blackgate Penitentiary for his crimes by the police.
