JojaMart are the main antagonists of Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone's indie simulation role-playing game Stardew Valley. A branch of the tyrannical Joja Corporation in Stardew Valley, the JojaMart seeks to rebuild Pelican Town in its own image, overworking employees and running competitors out of business until it can establish full corporate dominance over the town and its inhabitants.
Biography[]
In the prologue, the player works in an office cubicle run by Joja Corporation and is deeply unsatisfied with their current life. To escape Joja Corporation's grasp, the player quits their job and moves to Stardew Valley, where they can start a new life as a farmer. However, while they have left their previous job behind, the player soon realizes that Joja too has established a foothold in the countryside in the form of the JojaMart, run by the local businessman Morris. As manager and customer service representative, Morris lures the townspeople to his store with the promise of low prices in hopes of putting his competitor, Pierre, out of business.
Depending on the player's choices, they can either fight against the JojaMart's expansion or join them, which can be decided by buying a JojaMart membership for 5000g. If the player buys the membership, Mayor Lewis will sell the town's community center to Morris, which will be converted into a warehouse for Joja products, and the player can give money to the store to repair the town as Morris sees fit, which will reward the player with a soda machine that gives Joja Cola.
If the player refuses the membership, and instead donates goods to repair the community center, JojaMart will remain a constant presence in Pelican Town, overworking employees such as Shane and Sam and polluting the river with trash and Joja Cola. When the community center is finally completed, the JojaMart will be run out of business by Pierre, who defeats Morris in a fistfight. After this, Joja Corporation leaves Stardew Valley for good and the JojaMart is closed for termination.

Trivia[]
- JojaMart is likely meant to represent large corporate supermarkets such as Walmart and Kmart due to the similarity in name as well as their emphasis on cheap prices in order to drive smaller businesses out of competition.
- Interestingly, JojaMart's logo has a stricking similarity to the Youtube channel/website WatchMojo, which has often been criticized for pumping out content that many call corporate. Whether this was intentional due to what JojaMart represents or not is unknown.
