The Joker is the main antagonist of the DC Super Hero Girls two-part episode "#NightmareInGotham." This version of the character is a teenager who, even given his young age, is still one of Gotham City's most dangerous supervillains. In his debut episode, he intended to throw what he called Gotham's "scariest Halloween" by causing chaos all over the city.
He is voiced by the comedian Jeremiah Watkins.
Biography[]
The Joker, in this continuity, is a teenaged criminal and one of Batman's foes. Despite being mentioned in earlier episodes, he made his first appearance in "#NightmareInGotham." The episode starts with the Joker having escaped from Arkham Reform School in the week leading up to Halloween.
After escaping, he gives a phone call to Harley Quinn asking for her help in hosting the scariest Halloween that Gotham has ever seen. He also calls Batgirl while pretending to be Batman, alerting her to his own plan and getting her to investigate three targets. These three targets turn out to be traps that, after Batgirl comes to them, release the Gentleman Ghost, Solomon Grundy, and She-Bat into the city. It's at this point that Batgirl realizes that it was the Joker who called her.
With Harley's help, the Joker lured the three villains released by Batgirl to them for Halloween. Under his command, the monsters began causing mayhem and destruction all over Gotham City, fulfilling his plan to host the scariest Halloween event. However, the six Super Hero Girls arrived in Gotham to thwart his plan. Batgirl and Wonder Woman focused on fighting the Joker specifically while the others fought the monsters.
During the fight, the Joker explains his plan to Harley that, in order to make sure nobody can one-up his Halloween event in the future, he will have a bomb destroy all of Gotham to make sure it was the city's last Halloween ever. He then gets onboard his escape vehicle as he entrusts Harley to detonate the bomb on his behalf. While he's gone, Batgirl manages to convince Harley not to do it. Harley then escapes with the Joker, who is unaware that she did not follow through with his plans.
Personality[]
Like most versions of the character, this Joker is a psychotic and cruel supervillain who revels in causing chaos. His desire to give Gotham it's scariest Halloween of all time involves putting the whole city in real danger, and then destroying it to ensure that nobody could ever overshadow him.
Though he's willing to manipulate her, the Joker is shown to be friendly to Harley Quinn instead of outright abusive. Whether this is genuine kindness or a ruse to gain her trust is unclear.
