He was voiced by Jason Spisak, who also voiced the character in LEGO DC Super Heroes: Justice League - Gotham City Breakout and The Flash.
Biography[]
Just like his mainstream counterpart, the Joker is one of Batman's most feared and deadliest archenemies, as he pulls sadistic tricks that are not only clever and cunning but also deadly. Though much of his early life is a mystery, how he became the supervillain he is known today appears to be based on The Killing Joke, as he may have started out as a normal criminal but was foiled by Batman during an encounter, leading him to fall into a vat of chemicals in a chemical factory, causing the criminal to become disfigured, with his skin bleached white, his hair dyed green and his lips being a bright red, which drove him to insanity.
Major Villainous Appearances[]
"Mo' Money Mo' Problems"[]
While the Teen Titans were busy enjoying spending all of Wayne Manor's wealth on luxurious and very expensive items, they launched a series of fireworks that inadvertently got the attention of not only Joker but also the Riddler, the Penguin, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman, who immediately went to storm Wayne Manor and steal anything they found valuable. Joker and his fellow villains easily defeated the Teen Titans (with Joker defeating Robin by using his squirt flower to squirt gas in his eyes). He and the villains were soon stopped by Bruce Wayne/Batman's butler Alfred Pennyworth.
"Bat Scouts"[]
Joker is first seen in Arkham Asylum reading the book "101 Killing Jokes" until the Teen Titans (minus Robin) secretly trespassed and caused a jailbreak, right after Beast Boy cuts off the power. The villains (now including Bane and Two-Face and excluding the Riddler) were then chased out of the asylum, with Cyborg throwing the Joker out, as the Teen Titans wanted to take down Batman's archenemies as part of their jobs as Bat Scouts, against Robin's wishes.
Now free, Joker and the villains began rampaging in the streets of Gotham City, to Robin's horror, who then learned from his fellow Titans of their actions. Excited over getting to fight Batman's rogues gallery, the Titans (again minus Robin), immediately rushed to fight the villains, who are not happy that the same heroes who freed them are now going to fight them and send them back to Arkham.
The Titans were easily defeated by the villains, who simply punched them into a garbage bin. They despaired over not being able to stop the villains and immediately regret freeing them, but Robin renews their confidence and the Titans successfully the villains using everything they have learned from their Bat Scout training, with Cyborg defeating Joker by breaking dancing and then sending him flying into a pole, knocking the Joker out. The latter and the other villains were then teleported back into Arkham Asylum by Raven.
"Pig in a Poke"[]
Joker scams Starfire into giving him a lot of money by pretending to be a "foreign prince" online and lying that he will share with her a "vast amount of wealth" in exchange for nominal fees. This tricks Starfire into unknowingly giving Joker her entire lifesavings. The latter would then use the money that he scammed Starfire out of to buy the Axis Chemicals plant to use as a lair where he could make a giant whopppie cushion filled with toxic chemicals.
The Teen Titans, discovering the Joker's scam, went to Axis Chemicals to confront him. An enthusiastic Joker initially thought that his archenemy Batman is close by, due to Robin's mere presence. He becomes annoyed and disappointed when Robin tells him that he is on an "official" Teen Titans business (and thus, Batman isn't involved. Joker was then confronted over scamming Starfire, which he admits to without remorse.
He refuses Starfire's demand to return her money and reveals his giant whoopee cushion, sadistically declaring that "it will be quite the gas" once it goes off. The Titans tried to thwart the Joker's scheme through scamming and deception, but he didn't fall for their tricks and easily outsmarts them. In his arrogance, he boasted that he couldn't be out-scammed.
However, Starfire successfully beat him at his own game by faking a neck injury and threatening to call the Titans' lawyer (they actually don't have one) so they would sue him. This fools the Joker into returning her money and giving in to her demands and would then be forced to work for Starfire while naked as a slave/janitor in her newly-opened ice cream store.
"Jump City Rock"[]
Joker invades Jump City in his van and uses its loudspeaker to brainwash the city's people (even their pets) with a jingle he had made up to make them do his bidding. Under the Joker's control, they robbed every bank and store they find and deliver their loot to the Joker. Though the Teen Titans attempted to stop him his evil scheme, he successfully brainwashed them only for the Rock N Roll Band (consisting of Nandi & Thomas Bushell) to arrive and free the Titans from the Joker's control.
Angered over being "upstaged", Joker fires a musical hypnotizing beam at the group but was blocked by Thomas, who formed a forcefield around with them with his noise-cancelling power gauntlet while Nandi uses her electric guitar to counter the Joker's jingle. However, Joker increases the volume of his loudspeaker to overpower the Bushell siblings before escaping.
He is later seen again outside Jump City bank, which was being robbed by a mob of hypnotized people (as they all fell to his jingle), and they loaded the Joker's van with all the money they had stolen from the bank. Though Joker planned to go on "tour" to continue his robbing spree, he was once again confronted by Thomas & Nandi and the Teen Titans (who are now dressed in rock attire and armed with different instruments). Now better-armed and prepared, the group used their music power to free the people from Joker's hypnotizing jingle.
This forced the Joker to retaliate by unleashing Break-up gas (which Thomas Bushell states is the most toxic substance known to all bands). Though the gas's effects didn't affect the Bushell siblings, it however caused the Teen Titans to start fighting each other but Nandi convinces them to stop fighting and come together in love and friendship. As he continued to be overwhelmed by the group, Joker made a last resort to defeat them by transforming his van into a giant Joker robot arms with giant speakers. Despite this and putting a lot of effort, he was nevertheless overpowered by the heroes' combined teamwork and rock power, ultimately resulting in his defeat and the destruction of his robot.
