Jonathan "Jon" Kosta is the main antagonist of the Albanian arc in the second season of Law & Order: Organized Crime. He is the founder and leader of the Kosta Organization, who has orchestrated several criminal acts including drug smuggling, sex trafficking, human trafficking and several murders.
He was portrayed by Michael Raymond-James, who also portrayed Dave in The Walking Dead.
Biography[]
Kosta first met Detective Elliot Stabler while he was undercover as Eddie Wagner and was working at a bartender at Kosta's party at his home. After Preston Webb, the leader of the Marcy Corporation, shows up at the party, Kosta meets him inside to talk about Kosta's stolen product. Kosta then puts a gun to a gang member's head threatening to shoot him but Webb made a deal with Kosta to work together rather than against each other.
Kosta and his gang was at war with the Italians which resulted in Kosta ordering Reggie and several of his men to murder two members of the Italian gang in a warehouse and then burn down the warehouse. However, Reggie ordered Stabler to burn down the warehouse due to his undercover persona being known for committing a string of arsons. After Stabler impressed Kosta, Kosta invited him for dinner with the rest of them where Stabler was drugged. Later, Kosta welcomed Stabler into the organization.
After Stabler beat up Luka Hasa, the fiancé of Kosta's eldest daughter, Kosta had Stabler meet with him in his office. Kosta told Stabler that he would never be one of them before being interrupted several times by Luka. Kosta yelled angrily at Luka before him and Stabler went for a walk. Stabler apologised continuously but Kosta told him that he had a mission for him. Kosta ordered Stabler to rob a bar owned by Luka, which Stabler and Reggie did together.
It was revealed that Kosta was in charge of a massive sex trafficking ring which was also run by Albi and Flutura Briscu. After the police raided a charity event where they kept trafficked women, Kosta demanded answers from the organization before Flutura told him that someone had betrayed them. Kosta then held a meeting where he threatened members of his organization to come clean about being the 'rat'. Kosta then sliced the tongue off of one of his men as a warning and pinned it up on the wall.
After Teddy Garcia made comments about Kosta on live television, Kosta claimed that he wanted him dead. Kosta ordered Reggie to assassinate Teddy Garcia and Reggie agreed to do it. Stabler then warned Garcia that Reggie is on his way to kill him at his home but instead of him being there is wife was there. However, Reggie was under the influence of drugs during the mission and accidentally shot and killed Garcia's wife. This resulted in Reggie being arrested for murder.
After Agniezjka Bogdani warned Kosta and Albi about the police coming after them, Kosta and Albi bombed up the Besa Gym to fake their deaths which resulted in a teenager being fatally injured and Bell being mildly injured. Later, Kosta was eventually arrested along with the rest of the Kosta Organization.
