Jonel Nuezca is the main antagonist of the Imbestigador episode "Tarlac Shooting". He is based on the real-life police sergeant who shot a mother and son dead in 2020 over a dispute on a noisemaker.
He was played by Carlos Agassi.
Biography[]
Jonel Nuezca was born on October 17, 1974 in Urdaneta, Pangasinan. He entered public service by joining the Philippine National Police, rising through ranks until he became a master sergeant.
Feud with the Gregorios[]
Murder of Sonia and Frank[]
In December 2020, the incident started that occured in Tarlac when Jonel heard a loud noise coming from the Gregorios and spotted a man by the name of Frank, who got drunk while playing with the boga. Jonel brought his daughter, Elisha, with him while intended to arrest Frank without having a backup as the noisemaker he used was confiscated. His mother, Sonia, came by to protect her son from getting arrested. Many of the Gregorio relatives recorded the incident with the argument going on and the neighbors began panicking and had to wait until the Barangays (authorities) arrive to break up the fight. According to a colleague that Jonel worked with, he said that Jonel was not in uniform because he was having off-duty during the day of the incident. Unfortunately, Jonel's daughter threatened Sonia to let go of her son and the daughter remarked that her father was the policeman while Sonia responded back saying she doesn't care and Jonel completely had enough since he gave one last chance for Frank to surrender, for which his mother refused to do so, resulting the policeman angrily shooting both Sonia and Frank in their heads, while attempting to escape to Urdaneta to his parent's house for safety before being caught while in Rosales with the help of the video the Gregorios recorded . Prior to his arrest, his turned his firearms and his ranking was removed, ending his career as an officer.
Conviction[]
On January 10, 2021, Nuezca pleaded not guilty to his charges. The PNP fired Nuezca from his duty the following day.
The Paniqui Regional Trial Court pronounced Nuezca guilty of two counts of murder on August 26, 2021, sentencing him to reclusión perpetua owing the victims' family a ₱952,560 fine. He was confined to the New Bilibid Prison for three months.
Death[]
While walking out of a cell dormitory on November 30, 2021, Jonel Nuezca complained of dizziness and shortness before he collapsed as witnessed by some inmates. His cellmates brought his unconscious body to the prison hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy was conducted at Eastern Funeral Homes near Bilibid where it would later be found out that the cause of his death was heart attack.
Nuezca's remains were brought to his family in Urdaneta before being buried on December 5 at the Urdaneta City Memorial Park.

- The cemetery where he was buried has been visited by a content creator. Since then, many have been calling for his grave's desecration.
- Frank could have stopped Jonel after the latter shot his mom to death since he was too weak to do it while intoxicated.
