Jose Garza, also known as Christopher Harlow, is a minor antagonist in the TV show Dexter, appearing in the episode There's Something About Harry.
He was portrayed by an unknown actor.
Biography[]
Past[]
Garza was a drug dealer who often went by the name of Christopher Harlow, and had been convicted of armed robbery, assault, and burglary. He once got involved in a drug deal with a man named Ben Koff, during which Koff cheated him, leading to an argument which ended in Garza shooting and killing Koff. As a result, he went into hiding from the FBI in Miami.
There's Something About Harry[]
While in hiding, Garza bought cocaine from Santos Jimenez, but it never showed up because Jimenez was killed by Dexter Morgan, the Bay Harbor Butcher. Garza sent various messages to Jimenez's phone demanding the drugs, unaware that he was communicating with Dexter. He ultimately sent a message threatening to go to Jimenez's cabin in the Everglades to get the cocaine himself, something Dexter didn't want as he was holding James Doakes captive there. Dexter sent a message offering to meet at Jimenez's bar, where he knocked Garza out, abducted him and brought him back to the cabin, where he killed him by dismembering him with a small hand saw before framing Doakes for the murder.
Doakes was later killed when Lila West blew up the cabin in order to protect Dexter. The charred remains of Doakes and Garza were found inside the wreckage, leading the FBI to conclude that Doakes had killed Garza and then committed suicide by blowing the cabin up. As a result, they decided that Doakes was the Bay Harbor Butcher and ruined his reputation within the MMPD.

Trivia[]
- Jose is partially yet indirectly responsible for Doakes' ruined reputation, by giving him a "victim" who had a violent criminal past to fit The Bay Harbor Butcher's Modus Operandi.
- Jose is the only antagonist in the series to never be shown conscious before his death, making it entirely unknown as to what his personality was like before being murdered by Dexter.
