~ Judee's most famous quote.

Judee Levinson is a supporting character in The League of Gentlemen franchise.

She is a fairly pompous albeit friendly women living an upper class life, often times gloating and flaunting her wealth to her cleaner, Iris Krell, who bites back by boasting about her active sex life. Her seemingly perfect life however is merely a guise to hide a dark secret behind her proud and cheery façade. Although at first just a rather arrogant and pompous person overtime she becomes a slightly more malicious character.

She was portrayed by Reece Shearsmith who also portrayed Edward Tattsyrup, Geoff Tipps, Papa Lazarou, Ross Gaines, Bernice Woodall, Cathy Carter-Smith and Father Halfhearte in the same series as well as Mr. Jelly and Maureen Sowerbutts in Psychoville, Ray, Tom, Hector, Dr. Maxwell, Mr. Warren, George, Dr. Jacob Tyler and Viktor in Inside No. 9 as well as one third of the Vogons in the 2005 film adaptation of The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy.

Biography[]

Season One[]

Judee makes her debut when Iris arrives at her house to do her regular cleaning duties, during her stay the two engage in what is essentially a bragging war with Levinson trying to make Iris jealous with her tales of the opera and how her husband Eddie treats her with Iris doing the same in regards to her sex life with her own husband. Throughout the season Judee is planning on taking a trip out of the country with Eddie and tells Iris of her upcoming duties in preparation for said event.

Personality[]

Judee is a fairly relaxed and polite woman however she has a strong of pompousness under-toning this and acts in a very self serving and hedonistic manner a lot of the time. Although she and Iris have a civil relationship it usually involves Judee making passive aggressive, snide or downright rude comments to her while gloating about her perfect life. This however is an act put on by her own insecurities and denial about not being able to cope with her husband's death and that Iris is her own mother as well as her maid.

She appears to have overcame many of her demons by season three however in which she becomes much more opportunistic and sinister, willing to commit fraud by having Charlie Hull do work as a massage therapist while posing as her while she ran the front counter and would talk to customers just before sessions, when she found out the explicit nature of Charlie's work however she was brought to her most angry state, in which she broke his hand by stomping on it with her stiletto heels, showing a more violent side to her usually mild mood.

Appearance[]

Judee is an attractive young woman of average height with a slim build, blue eyes, short wavy blonde hair styled as a bob, brown eyebrows and has skin covered in fake tan. She is usually seen wearing expensive designer clothes, stiletto heels and black round sunglasses which she usually rests over the top of her head. She also wears rose gold acrylic nails.

Trivia[]

  • Judee's sunglasses would often times fall off the wig Reece Shearsmith used to play her, this became a running joke in an outtake section of season three.
  • Judee's sketches originated from a story Jeremy Dyson would tell his fellow League members about his mother talking to their home cleaner about the opera which confused the at the time child Dyson.
  • For some reason in the promotional materials for season three (Pictured in the infobox) Judee's eyebrows look a much brighter almost grey colour compared to the brown that they are in the show itself.
  • Her look is apparently inspired by Edina Monsoon from Absolutely Fabulous.
