Judge Stone is the main antagonist of the Chick Tract "It's Not Your Fault".

Biography[]

Following the suicide of seven-year-old Bobbie Barns at Happy Hills Orphanage, a police investigation is launched, and finds that not only did another child commit suicide at the orphanage several years prior, but also many of the children are showing signs of severe physical and sexual abuse. As a result, many of the children, including Bobbie's roommate Ralph, are re-homed. However, the mayor inexplicably forces the police to close the investigation, possibly due to Judge Stone, a friend of the orphanage owners.

Meanwhile, Ralph, having been sent to live with the Carpenter family, is unable to trust them due to his experiences, refusing to believe that they love him because it's what the man who used to climb into his bed at night would say to him. After several nightmares about his abuse, Ralph is asked about what happened, and says that Judge Stone was the one who abused the children, also claiming that Bobbie was killed because he told people that Judge Stone was the one who abused him.

Mrs. Carpenter tells him she understands, as she had a similar experience as a Christian missionary during the Rwandan Genocide, when Hutu extremists killed her husband and raped and tortured her. She tells him that God loves him, and he should pray to him to bless Judge Stone, which he does. The next day, Ralph is informed that Judge Stone died of a heart attack, the implication being that God struck him down.
