Julius Caesar (Jules César in French), dictator of the Roman Empire, is the overarching antagonist in the French comic book series Asterix. His main goal throughout the series is to conquer the only Gaulish village that resists Roman invasion, located in Armorica (northern Gaul), which is the home of the main characters.

Although many of the stories involve Caesar's schemes to finally conquer the last Gaulish village holding out against his legions, at other times, the village has (indirectly) come to his aid, but more often it is a major embarrassment to him in the Roman senate — in at least one book, the entire senate is laughing at him after a failed plan. Despite this, Caesar is also shown to be a man of honor, since whenever Asterix and Obelix (the main characters) somehow end up helping Caesar, Caesar always grants them any favour they ask. He goes so far as to rebuild the entire Gaulish village when it was destroyed by Brutus who was trying to kidnap Caesar's son, whom Asterix returned safely to his family (Asterix and Son). The appearance of Caesar is based on portraits found on ancient Roman coins.

In The Mansions of the Gods, he was voiced by Jim Broadbent, who also played Frank Butterman in Hot Fuzz, and Madame Gasket in Robots in the UK Version, while in the US Version, he was voiced by Mark Oliver, who also voiced Miles Dredd and Mechanikat.
