Julius Girtonia is one of the main antagonists of the Japanese Light Novel series, The Too-Perfect Saint. He is the disgraced (former) second prince of Girtonia Kingdom until he lost his status and kicked out of the royal family by both his father and his older brother, Fernand Girtonia for bringing shame upon his family's name. He is also the ex-fiance and arch-nemesis of both the main protagonist, Philia Parnacorta and later her cousin Mia Girtonia. He is also the arch-nemesis of his older brother and current king, Fernand Girtonia and his father, the previous king of Girtonia.
He was voiced by Kouhei Amasaki.
Biography[]
Julius Girtonia is the tyrannical former second prince of Girtonia. He is plotting to kill both his father and his older brother, Crown Prince Fernand Girtonia in attempt to take over as a king. However, Philia Adenauer used her powers and medicines ruined his plans. He (falsely) became Philia but later sold her out to the Parnacorta Kingdom and intend to marry her cousin, Mia, Adenauer. However, his foolishness allows his kingdom to be attacked by numerous monsters because of his ignorance for solding Philia and little did he knows, Mia is plotting her revenge on Julius for kicking Philia by acting that she loves (in truth she never loves him for his arrogance).
In the end, Julius and his followers were arrested by his father, the King of Girtonia Kingdom and his older brother, Fernand who officially disowned Julius from the family and stripped him from his status as a prince for his betrayal and failed attempted murder upon them. His attempted arranged marriage with Mia has officially terminated too by the Saint herself because she absolutely hates a worthless scumbag like Julius and will never marry to him for what he did to her cousin, Philia.
After Julius' downfall by Mia and both his father and brother, Fernand, his father passed down his throne to Fernand as the new king of Girtonia Kingdom as well Fernand married to Mia (Julius' former (falsely) fiancee and now arch-nemesis), while Julius' reputation was tarnished and wrote him off as both a criminal and a traitor completely.
After his downfall and disownment, Julius broke out of prison and still foolishly attempted to seek revenge upon his family, Philia and Mia. He become possessed by Asmodeus, the Demon Lord. This was untiil Asmodeus regained his true form and discarded Julius when he has no use for a worthless trash as his host anymore. After Asmodeus' death, Julius regained his conscious and attempted to kill Philia with his so called "new power" but only to realized Asmodeus' ring is destroyed for good. Mammon (Erza Notice's demon familiar) scares Julius, causing the disgraced former prince to pass out. Erza orders Mammon to throw away Julis back into the prison (this time for good) when calls the former-yet-tyrannical prince as a loser. Due to his jailbreak, Julius' prison sentence has suddenly increased even further possibly for life.
It is unknown what's Julius' next punishment would be, but it is very likely he will be executed under the order by his older brother and the current king of Girtonia Kingdom, Fernand for his betrayal and disgrace towards the royal family.
Personality[]
Unlike his father and his brother who are benevolence and kind, Julius is a selfish, arrogant, delusional, tyrannical and incompetent fool, thinking himself as superior. He only cares about is himself and power. He attempts to kill both his father and brother by attempting to poison them but failed due to Philia's medicine. He hates Philia for ruining his plans to ascend as king.
He is a pervert who is obsessed of Mia, based on her looks. However, his perverted obsession of Mia has foolishly allowed him to be manipulated by Mia's facade act when she is plotting revenge on him for exiling Philia.
In the end when his crimes were exposed by Mia, his own father and Fernand, Julius is nothing more than a full-blown and despicable coward when he foolishly tries to justify his actions towards his father, brother and Mia, which is nothing more than a pathetic excuse just to save his worthless skin.
He has no remorse on his actions and pin the blame onto others for his own wrongdoings by playing as a victim with lies. He foolishly tries to blame both Philia and Fernand for ruining his attempt to become king and making Mia as his wife, something that Mia disgusted and revealed she was never going to marry him in the beginning due to her hatred towards the now former prince.
After his first downfall, Julius suffered a complete mental breakdown when he broke out of prison, persistently attempting to seek revenge upon his family as well both Philia and Mia for ousting him from his status as a prince. However, he still proved to be a fool when he got possessed by the Demon Lord, Asmodeus after wearing his ring. He is such a sore loser when he thinks Philia is the reason why Mia will never marry to him which is his incompetence at fault. He is even more deluded thinking now he can kill Philia with his so-called "new power" but only to find out Asmodeus' ring is destroyed due to the Demon Lord's death by Philia. He retained his cowardice when Mammon scares Julius, causing him to lose his conscious before Mammon's master, Erza Notice order him to throw Julius back to prison for good.
Ironically, it is his desire for power led Julius to his own downfall as Mia terminated her engage marriage with Julius because she revealed her true feelings to him that she actually hates him for what he did to her cousin, Philia. Both Julius' father and brother, Fernand considered Julius to be a disgrace to the royal family and officially disowned him from their family for his betrayal towards them as well he is arrested for his crimes. His second attempted for revenge is even more worthless when his so-called "new power" is gone when the ring is destroyed and gotten himself thrown back into prison for good.
According to his kindhearted-yet-disowned father and Mia, Julius is beyond redemption due to his purely greed, selfishness, jealousy and hatred as well he remained as a vile villain.
Abilities and Powers[]
- Authority (formerly): As a former prince of Girtonia, Julius once had authority over his subjects. However, he lost his privilge by both his father, the king and his elder brother, Fernand for his betrayal towards them.
- Asmodeus' ring (destroyed): Julius wore the ring of the ancient demon lord, Asmodeus. He intend to use it for his revenge on his disowned family and his two former (falsely) fiancees. However, he let himself to be possessed by Asmodeus' himself. However, the ring has been destroyed.
Trivia[]
- Due to his betrayal towards his (falsely) fiancee and his family, Julius is one of the most hated characters in the series generally by the fans.
- He deserved worse than death when he was stripped from his royal title as a prince when he got arrested and kicked out of his family by both his father, the king and his older brother, Fernand when they considered Julius to be nothing more than a disgrace to the royal family. His attempted arranged marriage was also terminated by his so-called "fiancee" Mia because she was plotting to get revenge on him successfully for solding her cousin, Philia off as well she chose Fernand (Julius' older brother) as her fiance because of his selflessness and kindness when she always hates Julius for being selfish and tyrannical. He was once again arrested and thrown back to prison by Mammon under the order of his master, Erza Notice (who calls Julius as a loser). Julius' prison sentence has increased even further due to his initial jailbreak.
