Junk Man, also known by the serial number DWN-050, is a Robot Master who first appeared in Mega Man 7: Showdown of Destiny!, where he is one of the game's major eight bosses.
Junk Man was created by Dr. Wily to find new parts for robots. His body is held together by electromagnets. His strength and resistance led the mad doctor to modify him for combat. Junk Man's special weapon is the Junk Shield, which consists of metal balls that are held by electromagnetism, although Junk Man can also use his electromagnets to summon a metal ball to simply throw.
Personality[]
Despite his initial appearance, Junk Man is an expert economist in knowing quite much about the field of economics, though he tends to be very passionate about it which usually leads to him becoming a workaholic. In his spare time, Junk Man likes to eat junk food but dislikes both food waste and raw garbage. His CD Data in Rockman & Forte reads:
- Quote: "What a waste. It's still usable." (In the British version, the "It's still usable." part is unused for no known reason.)
- Good Points: Economist
- Bad Points: Too much passion
- Likes: Junk food (EN), Junk (JP)
- Dislikes: Raw garbage (EN), Food waste (JP)
Appearance[]
While he has a face that has the same colour as the skin colour of a normal Japanese male, Junk Man is mostly purple in colour. His nature as a robot built from scrapped parts gives him an asymmetrical design, with a hose being found above his left leg and another found below his right arm, which ends in a red crab-like pincer. His left arm ends in a normal hand.
Biography[]
Mega Man 7[]
Junk Man and his fellow Robot Masters Freeze Man, Burst Man, Cloud Man, Spring Man, Slash Man, Shade Man, and Turbo Man were sent by Wily to help him conquer the world, but they and Wily himself were defeated when Mega Man went to save the day.
Junk Man enters the arena by drilling from the floor, spinning as he does so. As he does so, he keeps looking at Mega Man.
During his fight, Junk Man can stomp the ground. Mega Man will be paralysed if he does not jump. Junk Man will also cause junk to fall. Mega Man will get hurt if this junk lands on his head, so positioning is key. Junk Man can also create a ball of metal from his arena, electrify it, and send it towards Mega Man to attack. A third move has Junk Man jump high and spike a ball of metal downwards. Junk Man will then jump into the junk on the ceiling and harvest it to form his Junk Shield. This shield will trap Mega Man just by touching him. Junk Man can also jump around the arena throwing pieces of metal as he does so. Junk Man is weak to the Thunder Strike, since the weapon's thunderbolts can disrupt the electromagnetism coursing through his body, effectively gibbing Junk Man and disrupting his pattern. Junk Man will croak if he takes seven thunderbolts from the weapon, assuming he doesn't take damage from any other weapon or recover any health.
