Juri Ooba is a major antagonist in Magia Record's second arc. She is the Second Sister of the three sisters who lead Promised Blood; an organization consisting of Magical Girls from Futatsugi City who were heavily affected by the Wings of Magius' actions in the story's first arc, and now seek revenge on Kamihama City as a whole, through stealing their Automatic Purification System for themselves.
She is voiced by Kayuki Matsumoto in the game.
Villainous Acts[]
- The first person she killed is also who she considers to be her first friend.
- Based on her doppel title "The unfettered tyranny that's encouraged is love" it would seem Juri considers her violent acts to be a form of love, which isn't very shocking considering her favourite person to fight (Yuna) is someone she's shown to have a great level of affection for.
- She keeps the remains (soul gem shards) of dead magical girls that were in some way connected to her, in a jewellery box in her bedroom.
- She has sadistically stolen Yuna's premium limited edition pumpkin shaved ice, showing no remorse, and in fact revelling in the suffering she has inflicted.
- She ate half of an ice cream that Ao had hidden away at the back of Yuna's freezer and put it back with a note saying "I ate half".
- During the tail-end of the Bloody Tragedy, due to her extreme desperation to fight Yuna, she convinces her gang who had previously split up with her, to ambush Yuna at the meeting planned for Torayamachi and Ryuugasaki's alliance in order to get another opportunity to fight her. This causes the two Torayamachi girls that were accompanying Yuna to die, and Juri proceeds to use the fact that Yuna's been backed into a corner to force her to fight her.
- She utilises what appears to be an abandoned bar as the base for the Ryuugasaki gang.
- In Arc 2's epilogue it's stated that she gets into professional boxing in the future, but quickly switches to coaching due to her inability to follow the rules when she gets heated up. This could imply that she may have seriously injured a fellow boxer.
Trivia[]
- Her and Mifuyu are the only Magical Girls that are shown drinking alcohol in Magia Record. However, the instance with Mifuyu was anime exclusive.
- While a lot of Magical Girls in Magia Record are pretty clearly shown to have feelings for a fellow Magical Girl, Juri and Yuna are one of the only character duos shown to be in an actual relationship.
