The Justice Magistrate is a supporting antagonist in the 2024 neo-western video game Dustborn. He is the leader of the organization Justice, and uses his power to lead the capture and study of young children "infected" with Vox, in hopes to discover the secret behind it, and possibly even use it for himself.

Biography[]

Past[]

At some point before the events of the game, they were elected as leader of Justice. It is unknown if he is responsible for changing Justice into the fascist regime it became, though it is implied.

Sometime after his election, he ordered the kidnapping and experimenting on several children, trying to breed a new era of Vox anomals. One of these anomals was Girl, who would later be saved by Dustborn. This process seemed to create new and more powerful Voxes, unlike any seen before, as Girl's Vox was stronger than any other Vox held by a member of the Dustborn, and potentially even on level with AXIOM's Vox mastery.

The endgame of this was to study Vox, and perhaps even harness it. By "harness it" it is unclear if this meant that the Magistrate wanted to obtain Vox powers for himself, or if he wanted to build an army of Vox-powered soldiers (as Justice has been seen to use child soldiers before), though regardless of which it was, the intent was undeniably evil.

Dustborn[]

The Magistrate makes many appearances through new feeds and holograms in passing, but never encounters Pax or any other member of Dustborn face-to-face.

He is seen as a hologram during one of the cities Dustborn is making its way through, and a news briefing occurs shortly after Pax ends up in a Justice Hospital. In that briefing, the Magistrate labels Dustborn as terrorists that must be found and caught. It is unknown if he knew at that time that they had rescued Girl from one of the Justice encampments.

The Magistrate does not make another physical appearance after that, although it is likely that after Dustborn escaped to Nova Scotia, he would continue his experiments on children, still trying to figure out the secret to Vox.
