Justine Zerbiak is a minor antagonist in the 9-1-1 Season 4 episode "Future Tense".
She is a woman who cyberbullies her ex-boyfriend Anthony, as revenge for breaking up with her. This results in Anthony having an injury at home, which draws Athena's attention.
She was portrayed by Alexis Krause.
Biography[]
Justine dated a man named Anthony, who owned a futuristic smart home that he gave her access to. At one point, Anthony felt their relationship wasn't working out and told Justine they needed space and time apart from one another, resulting in her moving out. It is apparent she didn't handle the break-up well and started stalking him online.
Future Tense[]
In the beginning, Justine was sipping coffee while watching Anthony from her new home. She hacked into the app of his smart home and overrode the commands, effectively turning the house against him while taking satisfaction in his dismay and cursing him for dumping her. When Anthony was in the shower, Justine turned up the water's temperature to immensely scalding levels and laughed at Anthony's misery. Unfortunately, this led to the disoriented Anthony exiting the shower but losing his balance and hitting his head.
Justine immediately realized that Anthony had a really severe injury because of her and expressed heavy guilt. She quickly noted this was bad, before making a quick call. 9-1-1 Dispatcher Maddie Buckley receives an emergency call from Justine, who reports that her boyfriend Anthony has fallen in the shower. Maddie gave Justine instructions for CPR that would help Anthony but got confused by her stating she wasn't in the home. Justine explained how Anthony's home was a smart home and she was able to see from an alert on her computer.
The 118 unit found Anthony and he survived his experience, though wondered how they knew he was hurt. When told it was his girlfriend who told them, Anthony freaked out before revealing she was his ex. This statement and reaction made the firefighters realize she may have been spying on him and caused his accident. At the same time, Justine told Maddie of her past with Anthony and how their lives were better together. Deducing from Justine's delusional statements that she is cyberstalking him, Maddie covertly keeps her on the phone while notifying LAPD of the crime. When Sgt. Athena Grant-Nash arrives, she greets Justine who asked what she needed before being told she needed to check in on her. Justine correctly deduced Maddie reported her and immediately surrendered.
Justine is presumably sent to prison for her crimes.
