Juutarou Kibe is a major antagonist in the 2020 Japanese psychological manga series Juujika no Rokunin. He is a psychopathic war veteran who once knew Shun Uruma's grandfather and as of late, became a member of the Revolution Club who intends to completely wipe out the Uruma bloodline.

Biography[]

At a young age, Kibe already started indulging in his bloodthirsty urges during the Showa era, which at the age of 10, he shot a deer twice. He thought of wanting more blood in his hands and believed if he was born in an age with the possibility of easily taking someone's life without worry, wars could never happen in the first place. He continued his bloodshed spree, beating others up and ultimately killing them as he grew older to where he became a subject of being a potential "homicidal maniac" but eventually stopped, not wanting to find himself in prison as he thought, believing it'd prevent him from "hunting bigger fish".

During World War II in 1939, at the age of 15, Kibe enlisted himself to join the army to indulge his bloodthirsty urges even further, believing in war he found his purpose of killing countless soldiers. His method of killing involves beheading them in no time short and earning his nickname, "The Guillotine". Due to his actions, it earned him a spot to join the Kitayama Corps under recruitment from his superiors whom seen his atrocities and begun assassinations, it's also when he first met Uruma's grandfather, Noboru Uruma. After a while and when the war was closing to an end, he was last seen speaking with Noboru of what he's planning to do after, the latter stating he wishes to live normally. Kibe's response was to believe he could never live normally and has already learned so many killing techniques that there is no turning back.

After the war ended, Kibe continued his killing spree, which at one point, he and Noboru were seen mugging two men and killing them. He then compliments his knifemanship and asks what they were to him, Noboru's response was to say they were merely a tool. Kibe replies back that they are more of a tool for "enjoyment" and that they are no different from bamboo-copters or other sharp objects. By then, he already racking up 456 bodies in a span of 80 years of his life, also revealed to have worked for both the government and the Yakuza underworld under their behalf. He never cared the people he killed were good or bad, until he met a woman elsewhere.

One day at a cafe, Kibe was ready to impale a fork at Noboru until he stopped his attack with a book, deducing the former still works for the underworld and offered him to work side by side in "another job". Noboru tries to talk sense into him that they were lucky to survive the war and that it's best to live an honest life, telling Kibe to back out murdering others. Kibe's response was to rebuke Noboru for acting "repulsed" by his actions and that he of all people should understand until his eyes gazed upon the very woman he met - a cafe waitress named Eiko - who kept Noboru company when she believed he was alone. Noboru then announces to him that the reason he can't continue his killings is because he was married to Eiko and vowed to protect her, which is something Kibe entirely forgotten, which grew his obsessions for her. While realizing part of him was in love with her, he vowed to make an effort to actually live a normal life for once, however, it proven to be difficult at hand. In spite of his determination, he struggled to control his urges and that he had to act sane in front of her, choosing between love or murder as a result but was ready to give up his homicidal acts in favor of being with Eiko.

However, one night, Kibe tried to confess his love to Eiko by forcibly kissing her to the ground and wanted to ensure if they ever felt the same way through intercourse, telling Eiko to live together until he was bashed in the head by Noboru, who was rightfully disgusted with him for trying to take advantage of his wife and later was left unconscious. When he believed Noboru abducted her away from him, Kibe gets furious and felt betrayed by the very person who he called his friend and persuaded him into living a normal life, soon realizing his bloodlust never evaded and went on killing random people nearby out of sheer anger towards Noboru. It was from that day forth, he would be determined to wipe out the last of Noboru's bloodline.

Years later, he recently joined the Revolution Club as possible a high-ranked member. In a meeting with Kyou himself, he'd join him under two conditions; the first being a set of soldiers who'll abide to his every order and train them under his wing, thus creating the "Neo Kitayama Corps", and the second being the finest execution site where he'll torture and kill Uruma. It wouldn't be long as Kibe went to work on training his soldiers into using the very techniques he learned from his days as a soldier, teaching them the detachment technique for instance.

In the present, he's first seen executing fellow members for failure of capturing or killing Shun Uruma and beheaded Ganno for turning against them, which he quoted on the intent of completely wiping out Uruma's bloodline. Locating them in a nearby forest where Uruma and the others went to find his grandfather's hidden stash of weapons, Kibe leaves a trailed path for them, consisting of mutilated fingers and other body parts, leading them directly to him. He is introduced torturing a random bystander by severing his fingers off with a knife, already cutting off his eighth. He then summons his own set of soldiers out of the blue, cornering Uruma and his crew while introducing himself as an old accomplice of his grandfather from the Kitayama Corps.

He then bluntly makes it clear to kill Uruma to completely wipe out the Uruma bloodline while questioning how life has been for Noboru before his demise, then proceeds to stab the knee of the man whose fingers he cut off earlier. He then expresses his grudge against Noboru and wishes to hunt down Uruma in his place, all while revealing his habit of chewing chunks of human bones, which he has one of the bones of Noboru chew on, spiting Uruma that he wants him "digested and turned into his turd". He then ordered his soldiers to laugh at Uruma's anger while having them engage to killing him, not before the latter noticed the detachment technique and used a smoke bomb to escape. Kibe then sends them after the trio onto the forest.

Chasing them throughout the forest, he quickly taunts Uruma on how much Noboru's family made him senile and soft, further mocking his former comrade until Uruma came to a stop. Using the technique of his late grandfather, he triggers the Kitayama Special Trap, "Iron Fence", to set off a boulder nearby Kibe and his men, who simply avoided it quickly and completely underestimating Uruma, which the net caught Kibe's men and trapped them torturously with the net's spikes piercing them the more they struggle. Stunned by this sudden act, Kibe looks back to see Uruma and the others have flee from the scene. His men pleaded him to free them, which he grabs his blade and proceeds to stab all of them multiple times, now determined to make sure he'll digest him soon.

From the moment Uruma and company found out the storage room where Noboru kept his weapons are all gone, Juutaro reveals to have already been one step ahead of them and proceeds to have his men open fire before they locked the door. Cornering them with the weapons solely belonging to his former ally, Juutaro tries to strike a deal, though he'll insist on skinning them all alive in they refuse to come out and negotiate, if they do, he'll only give Uruma and Kitami quick deaths. As he count to five, he has his men bash down the doors using mallets in an attempt to grant them an agonizing death. When Uruma found another solution to escape, it is left futile because they would barely have enough time to escape. It was then Kitami came up with a rather risky plan, which he goes out of the storage unit and revealed himself to be strapped with dynamite and explosives, blowing himself up along with Juutaro and his remaining men. It's revealed that Kibe survived the explosion and upon remembering his past, he regains the strength to carry out his hunt for Uruma.

While Uruma and Kawana were mourning Kitami's death and keeping his glasses as a momento, Kibe tries to attack them by surprise. Realizing they weren't caught in the blast, Kibe starts to hallucinate in seeing Eiko in Kawana, running towards her until Uruma pushed him back. As a furious Kawana starting shooting him with no effort in aiming, Kibe starts to lose it he further blames Eiko (in Kawana) for choosing Noboru (in Uruma) over him, attempting to slash them until they evaded it, cutting down a tree. As they ran, Kibe goes after them until Kawana paused for a moment, begging Uruma to face against the man that caused Kitami's death, which he came close catching up to them. Once Uruma found himself entering his grandfather's house, Kibe slashes the doors open in a fit of anger, ready to duel Uruma in person.

Recognizing the warehouse having old equipment and a framed photo of the Kitayama Corps, Kibe begins to laugh maniacally, calling out Noboru for telling him to live a normal life when he still kept all the things that made them in the past, not before proceeding to strike Uruma, believing the warehouse is best suited for both his death and the end of his bloodline. While fighting, Kibe reveals that Noboru "stole" Eiko from him and that the latter birthed to Noboru's son, then later Uruma, meaning Eiko was his biological grandmother, much to Uruma's shock. Flipping the table aside, Kibe strongly strikes Uruma, breaking his small blade and scarring his left eye, the same way Noboru was once scarred. Imagining Noboru in Uruma's image, Kibe ragingly tries to cut him up to death and pierce his blade right through Uruma's chest. Unfortunately, he ended up missing with Uruma catching the blade and tries to pierce his neck. Kibe, in a twist, pulls out a gun to Uruma's mouth and throws him to the ground, showing his psychotic determination to do anything he has to do if it meant ending Uruma, preparing to pull the trigger for the kill.

Without warning, Kibe ends up getting shot in the neck, revealing that Uruma found his grandfather's personal hunting rifle underneath the table and manages to make the shot while the former had his chance. He then goes onto a furious rant about losing to Uruma and that he's killed many people to "serve" the country, believing that Eiko loved him the most and that he was "the one" for her, still blind to his delusions of Noboru stealing her away from him. However, Uruma has enough of his rambling and tells him right to his face that he's tired of listening to the accusations of his grandfather stealing Eiko, deeming it "bullsh*t". To Kibe's response, he flies with rage, claiming he did nothing wrong, before he grabbed his knife and tries to kill Uruma. In just seconds, Uruma doesn't hesitate pulling the trigger and shoots Kibe right in the chest.

In his dying moments, Kibe begins remembering the day he first laid eyes on Eiko before Noboru tells him that he was married to her, thus explaining his reasons for refusing to go back into a life of killing. Once he properly realizes the whole scenario, Kibe initially dies with Uruma walking out alive.
