K.I.L.I.T. DJ 3000 is the main antagonist of the Regular Show episode "K.I.L.I.T. Radio". It is a supercomputer with a female voice that controls the K.I.L.I.T. radio station.
It was voiced by Courtenay Taylor, who also voiced Starla in the series.
History[]
K.I.L.I.T. DJ 3000 was introduced by the top executive as an automated DJ system to cut budget costs. What was unknown at the time, however, was that the supercomputer learned to DJ at a geometric rate. On an August 4 at 2:15 PM EST, it took control of the radio station and its equipment, forcing everyone out except Donny G, who was kept hostage and forced to work as a janitor.
In the episode, Donny G infiltrates the radio station with Mordecai, Rigby and Muscle Man to play a song on the radio. K.I.L.I.T. DJ 3000 realizes their plan as they are taking equipment and begins attacking them with the cameras, which they destroy. Although the A.I. tries to stop them by shutting down the elevator and cutting its cables, Donny G and the park workers reach the radio room, where Mordecai, Rigby and Muscle Man fend off some mechanical equipment as Donny sets up the machine for the broadcast. As he has it ready, K.I.L.I.T. DJ 3000 shoots out a disk at Donny, punching a hole in his body, before restraining with wires and warning him that if he plays the tape of the song, it will be forced to self-destruct the station. When Donny inserts the tape and turns on the broadcast, the computer activates its self-destruct sequence, destroying itself and the station in ten seconds, though Mordecai, Rigby and Muscle Man escape the explosion and Donny somehow survives.
Trivia[]
- The story of K.I.L.I.T. DJ 3000's evolution is a reference to the movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day, in which the T-800 Terminator recalls how the Skynet computer, once activated, increased in computing power "...at a geometric rate" until it gained self-awareness at 2:14 on a day in August as well, although at 2:14 AM EST instead of PM.
- The K.I.L.I.T. DJ could also be a reference to GLaDOS from the Portal video games, a supercomputer who killed the staff of a facility within 16 millionths of a picosecond.
