~ KJ explaining to Reacher what he's going to do to him, after he kills him. |
KJ Kliner is the main antagonist of the first season of the 2022 Amazon TV show Reacher.
He is a narcissitic, spoiled, self-proclaimed intellectual, who kills and slaughters whoever stands in his way of finishing his money-laundering scheme. He is responsible for the death of Joe Reacher, Jack Reacher's brother which kickstarted the event of the first season.
KJ had been responsible for all the murders and events of the first seasons, which Reacher, Finlay, and Roscoe had been trying to figure out. However, he had carefully hid his tracks, until in a Season 1 episode, where he revealed his true intentions, and how he wanted to carry on his father's money counterfeiting business.
He was portrayed by Chris Webster, who also played Nixon in Most Dangerous Game.
History
KJ starts off just as a narcisistic, self-proclaimed punk, who treats everyone like trash, until he meets Reacher. It's shown, as he meets Reacher, decides to step up his game, and anger him. Soon, by the end of the show, KJ is a psychotic, mentally challenged, murderer, who reveals that he has killed everyone. However, this was all to impress his father, but backfired. Fuelled by anger, he had soon killed his own father to take over the money counterfeiting empire.
In the final confrontation with Jack Reacher, Jack kicks KJ into a burning fuel barrel, incinerating him.
