The KSI Drones, also known as the KSI Prototypes are supporting antagonists in the 2014 film, Transformers: Age of Extinction. They are man-made Transformers built by KSI, using a combination of the substance that created the Transformers known as Transformium, as well as parts of the deceased Decepticons that perished in the battle of Chicago.

They were originally made with the sole purpose of replacing the Transformers as a whole, but ended up rebelling against their creators when Galvatron regained his original consciousness and convinced them to serve under his command, effectively forming them as his new Decepticon army.

History[]

Five years after the battle in Chicago, the Governor of Chicago legalized the Cybertronian races. At the same time, the Cementary Wind and KSI Company groups were created. This time, they exterminated any Cybertronians, and made them in their own visages. Joshua, the ceo founder of KSI Company, creates many KSI Drones. Among of them are; Galvatron, Stinger, KSI Boss, Two Heads, Junkheap Triplets, Aston Martin Decepticon, and McLaren Decepticon.

At first, Joshua sent Galvatron against Optimus Prime as a test. In the fight between Galvatron and Optimus Prime, Lockdown is interrupted, forcing Galvatron to retreat and let Lockdown finish his work. Without them realizing it, Galvatron lost control after being possessed by Megatron's consciousness, and rebelled against his creator. Galvatron, who was in full control, immediately ordered all KSI Drones to take the seeds to make Earth a new Cybertron. Galvatron and the KSI Drones ravage Hong Kong, this then forces the Autobots to fight them. With the appearance of the Dinobots who aid Autobots team, all of Galvatron's efforts failed miserably, Galvatron then moved to another place. Following Lockdown's death, and the destruction of most of remaining KSI Drones caused by Lockdown's grenade, Joshua has announced to closed his company permanently. On the other hand, Galvatron who survived claimed himself that he would be reborn.

Notable Members[]

Galvatron[]

Main article: Megatron (Transformers Film Series)

Galvatron is a man-made Transformer that was originally intended to be modelled after Optimus Prime, mimicking his similarities by transforming into a truck. At least five prototypes of Galvatron were made, but because they were primarily using Megatron's head to create the with the previous four being scrapped, due to their strong resemblance to Megatron. The latest prototype ultimately fell into Megatron's corruption and allowed him to fully convert it into his resurrected self.

Stinger[]

Main article: Stinger (Transformers)

Stinger is a man-made Transformer that can transform into a Pagani Huayra and was made with the intention of being Bumblebee's superior, advertised as being "better in every way". After Galvatron converted the rest of the drones as Decepticons, Stinger served as his most prominent henchman up until his death where he would be slain by the very being he was intended to replace.

KSI Sentry[]

The KSI Sentry are the standard man-made Transformers that transform into Chevrolet Traxes. They come in a variety of different colors, ranging from red, blue, black and white.

Junkheap[]

Junkheap are a pair of three man-made Transformers that combine together to transform into a Waste Management garbage truck. They are notably the only known KSI Drones (besides Galvatron) that survived the battle of Hong Kong, with some of them having embraced their newfound freedom and taken refugee in Hong Kong and Cuba.

KSI Boss[]

KSI Boss are man-made Transformers equipped with electrical whips that can release 10,000 volts of electricity.

Two Head[]

As their name would suggest, Two Heads are man-made Transformers with a pair of two heads, equipped with double blades on both of their arms. They bare a strong resemblance to Shockwave, which suggests they were likely built from the remains of his parts.

Trivia[]

  • The concept art and character model used for the KSI Boss was originally made by Josh Nizzi back in 2009, who designed it as a part of a video tutorial explaining robotic designs. The design would later be reused and modified to create Nitro Zeus.
  • The official Studio Series KSI Sentry figure depicts the character's transformation as a blue Pagani Huayra, rather than a Chevrolet Trax in the movie.
  • Junkheap's vehicle mode resemble the Garbagebot's vehicle mode.
  • The KSI Boss and Two Heads are the only KSI Drones that are never shown to be transforming on-screen.
