Kai Veneer also known as The Moving Day Murderer is the main antagonist of the Criminal Minds: Evolution episode "Homesick". Veneer is a masked serial killer who victimizes homeowners.
He was portrayed by Tanner Pierce.
Biography[]
Veneer's mother was one of seven victims of a gas leak at the Cosgrove Inn, where his father was a manager. As they couldn't afford homes for years due to bad credit scores and struggling incomes, Veneer and his father were homeless. When his father killed himself, Veneer snapped and decided murder would be how he punished the neighborhoods, waiting until the owners of the homes he and his father applied for would hire his employers for HVAC installation.
After unlocking a window at the house while he was on the job, Veneer would cut the power in the homes, slow the victims down with carbon monoxide through the HVAC, and then jump out with an oxygen tank and novelty mask. He would kill the victims with plastic stretch wrap tightly stuck all around their heads, watching then slowly suffocate and die. He started with lone homeowners, killing three in a matter of weeks: Adrian Jackowski, Ian Henderson, and Mora Profeta. He became more determined and enraged, escalating to killing two college students, Alexa Flynn and Janice James, in one night and home.
By that point, the BAU were on the case, and tracking the employees at the homes to match with the history predicted of the killer led to Veneer's tragic background and eventual identification. At this point, he invaded another home, making a move on pregnant wife Charlotte Noyer. When her husband Keith defended her, he nearly lost his, but the agents and local police stopped Veneer, arresting him and rescuing the couple. He was imprisoned for his crimes.
