Do you seek the ultimate truths?
~ Kairos, Grand Orchestrator of Complexities

Kairos Fateweaver is a Lord of Change and one of the foremost minions of Tzeentch, Chaos God of Magic. He is Tzeentch's Vizier, known by other titles such as the Oracle of Tzeentch, Mocking Watcher, and Keeper of the Destiny Scrolls. Though not the oldest or wisest Greater Daemon of Tzeentch, (these two honors are held by Amon 'Chakai), he is nonetheless one of if not the most potent spellcaster in the Mortal Realms short of the gods themselves.[2]

He is a antagonist in Warhammer Fantasy.

The Fateweaver

Originally a single-headed Daemon, Kairos Fateweaver became the famed twin headed fiend of Tzeentch after his ordeal within the Well Of Eternity. He is a tall and gangly vulturine daemon with primarily blue feathers, though his wings have white and purple coloring. One of his heads is red-eyed and fitted with a battle helmet. The other is green eyed and wears a more ornate headpiece. Despite sharing a name, the heads are individuals and consider one another to be siblings. As a Lord of Change, Kairos is among the taller of the Greater Daemons and stands far in excess of a mere mortal. He is lightly armoured and carries his staff, called The Staff of Tomorrow into battle. Even without it, the Daemon has sharp avian talons on his fingers and toes and is capable of using them in combat.[3]

Kairos has eyeballs in the palms of each hand and on the tips of a two-pronged tongue. His wings are described as vestigial, but his he capable of flight. His bones are made of brass.[4]

Information[]

We perceive the infinite. Your past is laid before us, mortal, every sin in plain view. We whisper to the gods, including yours, they know your seditions, due to us. There is no longer hope with them. Your fate dangles on a thread, let us weave you a new destiny. Stay still -- no sudden movements -- as we wrap our wings around your soul.
~ Kairos, Oracle of Tzeentch[5]

Kairos was a powerful Lord of Change, but fell victim to his master's unprovoked whims and curiousities about the Well of Eternity, a great and near-painful mystery that even Tzeentch could not solve. Though he was mighty, the Chaos God could not be sure of his own survival should he enter the well and so he tossed his servant Kairos Fateweaver in his stead. After years uncounted within the depths of the Well, Kairos clawed his way back, haggard and changed by the ordeal. Where there was once one head, there were now two, with one able to glean the past while the other could divine the future. However, the Daemon was blind to the present and thus uniquely unfit for combat compared to his kin.[6]

Sitting at Tzeentch's side as his right hand, Kairos stirs the stygian depths of the well and it reveals secrets that only he can see. Whatever he mutters is written down by scores of other Lords of Change, inked with Tzeentch's blood from quills pulled from their own plumage. These are powerful snippets of knowledge and each Change-Lord jealously guards whatever he manages to record, for it could give him an edge in the intrigue ridden Court of Tzeentch. He knows every spell in existence and this makes him Tzeentch's favorite agent in the Great Game. He rarely leaves the Impossible Fortress, lair of the Trickster God, but when he does the task is truly dire.[7]

Warhammer Fantasy[]

I am Kairos Fateweaver and I will send your soul to Tzeentch so that he may use it as a bauble for his pleasure.
~ Kairos taunts Aenarion

Kairos was one of the four Greater Daemons summoned near the Great Catastrophe, alongside N'Kari, Throttle Gurglespew, and Hargrim DreadAxe. He was the first of the supreme Greater Daemons to oppose Aenarion and the first to fall; the Elven Warrior decapitated and banished him back into the Realm of Chaos. As Kairos only had one head during this time, it is presumed this is before he was thrown into the Well.[8]

In the mortal world, Kairos' refuge is the Silvered Tower where he rules over Lesser Daemons of Tzeentch who serve him as scribes.[9]

The End Times[]

We see you, wolf-god. We see you, cowering in this cave of blood and meat. Come out, little god...come out and accept the judgement of fate.
~ Kairos taunts Ulric

Kairos would battle Patriarch Martak, the host of the Empire War God Ulric. Originally confident in it's victory, as it has seen Martak and Ulric perish as it gleaned the future, the Lord of Change would route from the field as Martak defied all expectation and seized onto the Staff of Tomorrow.[10]

During The End Times, Kairos would assist the Everchosen Archaon, but harbored plans to betray him. However, the Everchosen had predicted this of the Greater Daemon and slew the Lord of Change by decapitating both of it's heads before it could cast any fell spells. The daemon's corpse was kicked into a sacrificial pit and used to summon the Bloodthirster of Khorne Ka'Bandha so that the Blood Hunt could commence a final time.[11]
