Kaku is a supporting antagonist in One Piece franchise.
He is a member of CP0, who was formerly a member of CP9, operating undercover in order to obtain the Pluton blueprints from Iceburg and capture Nico Robin. While undercover, he acted as one of the five foremen of Galley-La Company's Dock One, specializing in mechanics, diagnostics, and housecalls. After CP9's defeat at the hands of the Straw Hat Pirates, he and the rest of CP9 were dismissed by Spandam. For unexplained reasons, he was later reinstated and promoted to CP0.
He is one of Roronoa Zoro's most dangerous enemies.
He is voiced by Ryôtarô Okiayu, who has also voiced Hades in Record of Ragnarok, in Japanese and Alex Organ in English.
Appearance[]
Kaku is a young man who has big eyes with three lashes on each eye. He has a fairly long nose, which is similar to Usopp's, which has led to a running gag of other characters from the Straw Hat Pirates mistaking him for Usopp.
While working for Galley-La, he wore a white cap and an orange and blue jacket with blue jeans and white boots. As a CP9 agent, he wore an outfit that looked very similar to his Galley-La outfit, but instead his attire is completely black. As a member of CP0, he wears a white suit with a large collar and a beige tie, as well as a white top hat. He also wear a fake bearded mask.
Personality[]
When first introduced, Kaku was shown to be a friendly and helpful person, who does his job as a shipwright extremely well and seems sympathetic when he informs the Straw Hats of their ships poor condition.
As an assassin, Kaku is very serious and becomes a heartless killer and loses all pretense. Some of Kaku's false personality as a shipwright does still exist in his real identity, such as his honesty with people. For example, during his time as a shipwright, he was honest to the Straw Hats about the Going Merry's severely damaged state and that there was nothing he could do to fix the ship. Furthermore, he is the only member of CP9 to have actually enjoyed his time undercover as a shipwright and expresses some remorse for having lied to Paulie for so many years.
He appears to have quite a fragile ego, getting flustered when fellow CP9 member, Jabra, mocks him for his underwhelming Devil Fruit. Kaku does seem to realize his Devil Fruit's disappointing power, as he does his best to utilize it to the fullest so it seems useful during his battle with Roronoa Zoro. He also sliced the Tower of Justice in half when faced with insults in an embarrassed rage.
Kaku is also honorable when he accepted his defeat at Zoro's hands and given him the key to Nico Robin's handcuffs. Kaku even smiled and laughed when Zoro tell him to get a job at a zoo. When seeing Luffy in Egghead, Kaku tries to tell Lucci not to fight Luffy (who became an Emperor) because they didn't get any permissions from the World Government of accepting them to fight Luffy. Learning someone is controlling the Seraphims in attempt to kill them all, Kaku offered a temporarily team up with Luffy and Zoro against the common enemy. Kaku also allows his former fellow agent, Stussy leave before Lucci would come, shown Kaku is not intolerant of Stussy's betrayal.
Kaku has a tendency to talk like an old man, despite his young age, referring to himself with "washi" (which means I in Japanese, mainly used by elderly people), instead of ore (meaning I as well, used for young male adults).
Abilities and Powers[]
As the second strongest of Cipher Pol agents (after Rob Lucci), Kaku is very powerful. His Doriki is 2200 which is almost twice lower than Lucci. He clashed equally with Roronoa Zoro (the strongest swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates).
Rokushiki[]
As a fully trained CP agent, Kaku has mastery of Rokushiki.
Yontoryu[]
Kaku is very strong swordsman of Yontoryu. He normally use two swords and Rankyaku from both his legs.
Devil Fruit[]
Kaku eaten a Zoan type Devil Fruit known as Ushi-Ushi no Mi, Model: Giraffe (Ox-Ox Fruit, Model Giraffe). He can transform into a fully or hybrid giraffe. It was given by Spandam.
After timeskip, Kaku has "awakened" his devil fruit.
Haki[]
Kaku possessed Busoshoku and Kenbunshoku Haki.
