Kalvin Ritter, also known as The Sparrow, is an overarching antagonist in HITMAN (2016), appearing as the reenactment target of its first two prologue missions "Guided Training" and "Freeform Training".
Little is known of the past of Kalvin Ritter, the mysterious jewel thief known as the Sparrow. A Barbados native, Ritter was part of the Yardbirds, an international jewel thief gang led by legendary Serbian bank robber Aleksander Kovak.
Ritter was a natural cat burglar: athletic, charismatic and if need to be, ruthless, having no qualms about injuring or killing security personnel.
After the Yardbirds disbanded, Ritter found work as an art collector in Florida. He continued his line of work as a thief, stealing millions of dollars worth of priceless art.
In 1998, Ritter was prepared to retire as a cat burglar. Unfortunately, a former client of his placed a contract on him after realizing they bought a counterfeit Gorka from him. He was assassinated on his private yacht by an unknown ICA agent in Sydney, Australia.
In 1999, the ICA ran a series of tests on the then Initiate Agent 47, in which Ritter's assassination was played out by actors and actresses. Ritter is portrayed by a dark skinned man.
Trivia[]
Ritter has a girlfriend, Callista.
Kalvin Ritter's ethnicity is inconsistent. While he is stated to be a native of Barbados, in game content switches between portraying him as a white and black man, making it unclear he is of the ethnically Barbadian or simply born there.
While ICA's training program chooses to portray Kalvin Ritter with a black actor in "Guided Training" and "Freeform Training", adding to the possibility he is ethnically Barbadian, the opening cutscene of "The Last Yardbird" portrayed him as a white man, adding to the possibility he was merely born in Barbados.
