Kamaitachi is the weasel-themed Youkai of the Youkai Army Corps serving Daimaou and a minor antagonist in Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, being the main antagonist of the 35th episode.
He was played and voiced by Baiken Jyukkanji.
Biography[]
Past[]
Kamaitachi first came to be when humanity's negative emotions physically manifested and formed thier own group under the leadership of the most powerful of thier kind; Daimaou. One thousand years ago, Kamaitachi was among the army of Yokai who attacked Ninjaman whilst he defended a village. Kamaitachi was evidently able to escape alive but Ninjaman was banished by the Three God Generals as he slaughtered his entire village after mistaking them for Yokai.
Kamaitachi was ultimately among the Yokai who managed to avoid being sealed behind the Seal Door by the Ancient Kakurangers but was reduced to a human form when the Yo Power was sealed with Daimaou.
Kakuranger[]
By 1994, Kamaitachi has evolved into a more human form by the time that the Yo Power is released by Kappa.
Kamaitachi is sent by Daimaou to pose as the principal of a middle school to brainwash and then transform children into an army for the Youkai to use against humanity. Kamaitachi is first seen giving an update to Daimaou before showing the dark lord to a history lesson about his species and then the kitchen where Dorodoros and Flower Ninja Ayame are cooking special drinks to slowly turn the children into Youkai. Throughout the school, the other members of the Flowery Kunoichi Team act as teachers but Daimaou senses the Kakurangers are spying (since one of the not mind-controlled students had alerted her sisters who happen to be old friends with Tsuruhime). As such, Kamaitachi and the Kunochi kidnap Hanayo before summoning the child army and brainwashing Hanayo as well. Outnumbered and unwilling to hurt children, the Kakurangers hold them off only to be blasted by Kamaitachi who then flees. When the Kakurangers later storm the school and fight the Flowery Kunochi Gang, Kamaitachi tells the children to kill Tsuruhime only for his controlling talisman to be destroyed by a shuriken from Tsuruhime as the one the children attacked was an illusion.
With his controlling talisman destroyed, his control over the children is broken so he storms outside and confronts the Punishment Sailor Sisters. Angered, he produces a sickle but it quickly rendered useless by balloon fluid dulling it before blasting him away with the Punishment Final. Whilst the other Kakurangers fight the Kunochi, Tsuruhime fights Kamaitachi with the Youkai initially having the upper-hand due to his jet-pack until she uses her White Crane Dance to also fly and destroy his jet-pack with shuriken. With the Youkai helpless, she blasts him with her KakuLaser and finishes Kamaitachi off with her K-Slash with him dying before he can summon the Youkai Lightning Cloud to grow giant.
Kamaitachi is recalled by the Announcer whilst recapping the Kakurangers' war against the Yokai during his feature on the Kakurangers.
Kamaitachi is heard, along with all the other defeated Youkai, behind the Seal Door after Daimaou is finally sealed away by the Kakurangers. Reeling that they are now powerless in captivity, the Yokai all vow that they will one day be reborn and regain their power, cursing humanity.
Gaoranger vs Super Sentai[]
Miku of the Megarangers recalls Tsuruhime defeating Kamaitachi to Sae Taiga of the Gaorangers during a speech about the past fights that other Sentai have had after Lost Highness Duke Rakushaasa makes him lose hope.
Personality[]
Kamaitachi acted like a normal principal giving orders to his students but is in reality a sadist who enjoys abusing, brainwashing and transforming children to suit his and his master Daimaou's needs.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Durability: Kamaitachi was unfazed by the Punishment Final exploding in his mouth and multiple slashes from Tsuruhime's Kakuremaru.
- Human Form: Kamaitachi can assume the form of a weasel-like man by gesturing his hands to his forehead fading in and out of existence.
- Energy Blasts: Kamaitachi can fire invisible blasts from his left hand strong enough to cause large explosions and knock out all five Kakurangers.
- Laser Spit: Kamaitachi could spew white energy beams from his mouth capable of causing large explosions and knocking down Tsuruhime.

- Claws: Kamaitachi has razor sharp claws to slash his enemies with.
- Sickle: Kamaitachi wielded a sickle blade as his main weapon in combat.
- Talisman: Kamaitachi used talismans that looked like school badges to brainwash a school of children.

Trivia[]
- Due to not having a usable Zord fight, and mostly appearing around the Punishment Sailor Sisters, Kamaitachi was not adapted into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
- However, his left hand and fur were used for Plague Patroller #2.
