Kamen Rider Calibur is a major antagonist of Kamen Rider Saber, serving as the main antagonist of its first arc. He is a former member of the Sword of Logos whom betrayed the organisation to the Megid, and tried to steal the Book of Ancients, resulting in its pages being scattered all across the world.

His true identity is originally believed to be Hayato Fukamiya, the father of Kento Fukamiya and the previous Kamen Rider Calibur. It is later revealed that his true identity is in fact none other than Daichi Kamijo, the previous Kamen Rider Saber who saved Touma's life in the past and gave him the Brave Dragon Wonder Ride Book.

He was originally friends with Hayato Fukamiya until Hayato was corrupted by a mole within the Sword of Logos. After defeating his former friend, Daichi became aware of a mysterious force controlling the fates of everyone and thus sought to attain the "eternal truth" in order to figure out what this force was and how to stop it. To this end, Daichi defected from the Sword of Logos and took up the mantle of Calibur from his fallen friend, leading his comrades in the Sword of Logos to believe he was dead. He teamed up with Megid to connect Earth to the Wonder World in order to gain access to Table of Relevations, which held the secrets he needed to uncover the truth of the world.

Daichi Kamijo is portrayed by Hiroyuki Hirayama, while Kamen Rider Calibur is portrayed in suit by Kenji Tominaga.

History[]

Past[]

Before becoming Kamen Rider Calibur, Daichi Kamijo was the original Kamen Rider Saber and a close friend of Ryo Ogami and Hayato Fukamiya. After Hayato became corrupted by someone within the guild and attempted to open a portal to the Wonder World using Luna, Daichi was forced to fight his old friend. During the incident, Daichi saved Touma Kamiyama, who would later succeed him as the second Kamen Rider Saber. After defeating Hayato, Daichi learned from him of an eternal truth of a possible creator of the world. Perturbed by his friend's sudden turn, Daichi lost his faith in the guild and secretly, betrayed the Sword of Logos, secretly taking up Calibur's identity and teaming up with the Megid to obtain the eternal truth and as well as find the mole within the organisation in the process. Calibur attempted to steal the Great Book for himself, but his theft was thwarted and as a result, its pages were scattered all across the world, leading the Megid to seek them out in order to open a second portal to the Wonder World.

Alliance with the Megiddo[]

In the present day, Calibur announced to his acolytes in the Megiddo that the time for them to make a new world emerge had come. He handed the Gansekiou Golem Alter Ride Book to Legeiel and sent him to create the Golem Megid to attack the city.

Calibur and his cohorts later observed Kamen Rider Blades join Saber in fighting against the Ari Megid. Calibur was unperturbed when the two destroyed the Ari and Kirigirisu Megid, remarking that they had only accelerated his plans.

As Kamen Rider Buster destroyed the second Golem Megid, Calibur commented on the swordsman's emergence.

After the defeat of the Hanzaki Megid, Calibur appeared to battle Touma and Rintaro and easily overpowered them both. Calibur attempted to finish them with the Donkugo Issen, but Kento appeared and blocked the attack before sending Calibur away into an isolated floating island in the Wonder World. Calibur later returned from the island and released Desast from his Alter Ride Book.

Seeking Avalon[]

Calibur later attacked Touma during the battle between the Sword of Logos and the Piranha Megid in an attempt to claim his sword and the Brave Dragon Wonder Ride Book. As the two faced each other, a spark occurred between Brave Dragon and Jaaku Dragon, confirming Calibur's suspicions about Saber. Espada then intervened in the fight and attacked Calibur, leaving Saber to deal with the Piranha Megid. Espada later asks Calibur that why he betrayed the Sword of Logos. Calibur refused to answer Espada's questions and easily defeated the rider. Before Calibur could finish Espada off, Buster appeared and deflected Calibur's attack.

Calibur later returned to the hideout of the Megid, and noted that, as he suspected, without Brave Dragon and the sword, he cannot reach Avalon. Hearing this, Storious decides to help Calibur reach Avalon and hands a black book to him, asking what he intends to do once he gets to Avalon.

After Storious stole Touma's power as Brave Dragon, Calibur was able to reach Avalon and entered the world untransformed. While there, he encounters Touma and Kento, in which both of whom traveled to Avalon in order to get the Brave Dragon Wonder Ride Book back. After transforming into his Kamen Rider form, Calibur fought Kento while Touma entered the location where King of Arthur Wonder Ride Book was sealed. Calibur defeated Kento, but Touma was able to obtain the power of King of Arthur, causing Calibur to leave as he believed that he had more reason to be there. Right before he left, Kento asks him that why he betrayed the Sword of Logos once more. However, Calibur vaguely answered that he would find out sooner or later.

Calibur's True Identity[]

Kento later attempted to confront Calibur once more, seeking to defeat him to atone for his father. Calibur managed to overpower Kento, but Kento's friends soon came to his aid. After being defeated by a combined finisher from Saber, Blades, Espada and Kenzan Calibur was forced out of transformation, revealing his true identity as Daichi Kamijo. Shocked, Kento demanded to know what happened to his father and why Daichi was Calibur, but Daichi refused to answer. A furious Kento then transformed back into Espada and attempted to attack him, but Daichi transformed back into Calibur and easily fought off Espada, knocking Kento out of his transformation. Daichi then returned to the Megid's lair, where he was impressed at the new Jaou Dragon Wonder Ride Book that they have created.

Jaou Dragon and Connecting the Worlds[]

With the revelation that Daichi had been Calibur all along, Sophia sought him out and asked why he became the Swordman of Darkness. Daichi responded that he abandoned everything to obtain the truth. Kento then appeared seeking to fight Calibur again, and two Riders transformed into Calibur and Espada to do battle. During the fight, Kento asked Calibur what he had done to his father, to which Daichi answered that he had cut him down for betraying the Sword of Logos. Kento becomes more enraged but is unable to overcome Daichi, who at that point decides to test out the new Jaou Dragon Wonder Ride Book. Transforming into his new form using the said Wonder Ride Book, Calibur became even more powerful and was able to easily overpower Kento. Before he could finish Kento off, Blades intervened and took Calibur's finisher, causing him to become critically injured.

Calibur and the Megid then put their plan into motion, to simultaneously erase six locations and replace them with giant books that will connect the human world to the Wonder World, similar to the incident that happened 15 years ago. As Calibur made preparations, he was confronted by Kento again. During their confrontation, Kento mentioned Touma, causing Daichi to realize that the current Saber was none other than the young child he saved 15 years ago. The two then transformed and fought once more, with Calibur easily beating down Kento before using a more powerful attack in order to defeat him, that the said attack left Kento severely injured.

As Daichi prepared to use his own Sacred Sword in order to open the last of the giant books needed to open the portal, he is interrupted by Touma and Rintaro. Touma asks Daichi why he sacrificed many lives, including Kento's, to discover the truth, to which Calibur answered that it was the only way. Daichi then transforms into Calibur and easily fights off all the Logos Riders with the power of Jaou Dragon. An injured Kento shows up to help his friends but Calibur easily cuts him down too and seemingly kills him. However, Touma then suddenly receives the Dragonic Knight Wonder Ride Book from Luna and uses its power to defeat Calibur. Following Daichi's defeat, Desast attempted to claim the Ankokuken Kurayami, only for Calibur Jaou Dragon to appear to retake it, still alive.

Once all the giant books were opened, Earth became fully connected to the Wonder World and a portal opened in the sky leading to the Table of Revelations. While his Megid allies held off the Riders of the Sword of Logos, Calibur Jaou Dragon flew into the portal and went to obtain the Table of Revelation. However, Saber was able to get past the Megid and flew into the portal to the Wonder World after Calibur. Inside, the two Riders faced each other, and Calibur revealed he sought the Table of Relevation to attain the "eternal truth" that he desired. Both Touma and Daichi fought each other, thus resulting in Calibur defeating Saber, casting Touma into the eternal darkness, but Touma was able to escape with help from the spirit of Kento and confronted Calibur again. Impressed by his willpower, Daichi revealed the truth to Touma about the incident that happened 15 years ago, how Hayato had been corrupted by a mole within the Sword of Logos and how he believed that the world was merely controlled by a "creator" that controls the fates of everyone, who he sought to uncover. Calibur then fights Saber once more and tells him that the one true reason for seeking the Table of Relevation is to discover the true mole within the guild and defeat the said mole. Touma decisively defeated Daichi, but managed to convince him that turning his back on his friends was merely a mistake. Impressed by Touma's resolve to decide the end of the story, no matter if it was written, Daichi asked Touma to discover the truth in his stead and as well as find "the one who betrayed the organisation", warning Touma that the path he would go down was dangerous and would include sacrificing his friends, the others, and even the ones that are closest to him. Daichi was then suddenly stabbed from behind and murdered by Desast, allowing Desast to claim his Wonder Ride Books for himself.

Legacy[]

Legeiel revealed to Touma that Daichi was another pawn of the Megid's plan. His sword, the Kurayami, would later be wielded by Kento Fukamiya, the son of Daichi's old friend Hayato.

During the final battle against Storious, the Kurayami would later be wielded by Sophia.
