The One who Purifies God and Slays Demons, better known as Kamijou no Touma, is a major antagonist of A Certain Magical Index: New Testament, serving as the titular main antagonist of the Kamijou Arc.
He is a malicious entity who is the physical emanation of Touma Kamijou's power, emerging as a result of the damage from the conflict with Coronzon as well as his own regrets and subconscious wishes. Taking most of the Imagine Breaker and his other powers with it, as well as possessing memories which he had lost, the individual attempted to usurp Touma’s identity and assert himself as the “real” Touma Kamijou.
Like his original, he is voiced by Atsushi Abe in Japanese.
Appearance[]
His appearance is identical to that of Touma Kamijou. During the events at Windsor Castle, he wore a dark blue tuxedo. He intially manifested in the form of a triangular-shaped prism which emereged from Touma's detacted right arm.
Personality[]
Despite appearing and acting quite similar to the original Touma Kamijou, the emanation's personality is extremely different. He describes himself as nothing more than an ability that distorts quantum physics, reminiscent of esper powers. Released by Touma's own regrets, he looked to enact their shared wish of protecting those important to them, however, the emanation is very cruel, amoral, manipulative and sociopathic, the antithesis to Touma's benevolence and altruism.
Possessing the Imagine Breaker and all of Touma's past memories, the entity is also rather self-righteous and arrogant, believing himself to be the real "Touma Kamijou" and displays immense hatred for the original. He is also quite sadistic, as shown where he torments Touma after manifesting and manipulated Misaki Shokuhou into using her ability to subjugating the people of Windsor Castle.
Furthermore, despite his claims of wanting to protect those precious to him, the emanation is highly apathetic and ruthless, having no compunctions about threatening the lives of others to do so. He also holds no qualms about using personal connections that Touma has gathered for corrupt ideals and is willing to use their weaknesses and strengths against them.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Imagine Breaker: Like his original, the emanation wielded the Imagine Breaker, which allows him to negate supernatural powers and properties. Moreover, he could assume the form of a dragon - one of shocking-pink and emerald instead of sky-blue and lemon-yellow. Rather than surrounding the human body like a shell, this power emerged from within him with his human body being the shell. He retained Imagine Breaker's negation ability while in dragon form.
- Master Manipulator: The emanation was shown to be an extemely cunning and deceptive manipulator, as he was able to mimic the original Touma Kamijou's personality almost near accurately, even fooling Touma's closest allies that he is the real Touma. His acting skills was so perfect that not even Index was able to identify him from the original Touma Kamijou.

- Due to the kanji of his name (神浄の討魔 Kamijō no Tōma), the western fandom has dubbed the character "Kamijou no Touma" or "Knt" for short.
