Kammy Koopa (in Japanese: カメックババ, Kamekkubaba) is a major antagonist in the Paper Mario series, serving as the secondary antagonist of Paper Mario and a supporting antagonist of its sequel Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. She is an old Magikoopa who serves as Bowser's advisor and right-hand woman, using her magical abilities to help in him his schemes.
Kammy is Bowser's right hand in the Paper Mario games, acting as the "brains" of all his plains. In Paper Mario she helped Bowser break into the Star Sanctuary and steal the Star Rod, as well as aided him during his reign of terror. She informs Bowser of Mario's progress and offers suggestions on what to do for the situation. While she is smarter than Bowser (she suspected Princess Peach of not being entirely honest when Bowser wanted her to tell him things Mario hated), she is also completely loyal to Bowser and will follow orders without question. She also created the Power Platform, which increased Bowser's power to the point when the regular Star Beam didn't work. She battles with Twink, but with the help of the princess's wishes, Twink defeats her and Peach wishes to power up the Star Beam into Peach Beam, which penetrates Bowser's invincibility, turning the tides against Bowser and Kammy.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door[]
In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, she was downplayed somewhat and reduced to a comic relief role, offering to help the Koopa King, but not actually doing much other than follow him around and gathering information on the Crystal Stars and Peach's whereabouts.
In the Palace of Shadow, Kammy aids Bowser in battling Mario after Bowser lands on Sir Grodus. She can use her magic to buff both her and Bowser to raise attack and defense and heal when their HP gets low. After defeating them, Kammy falls unconscious and is never seen afterward.
Other Media[]
Super Smash Bros.[]
Kammy appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a sticker that slightly boosts all direct attacks from special moves by eight points for all fighters, and a primary attack type spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that increases magic attacks. Her spirit battle is against Bayonetta on the Paper Mario stage equipped with a Star Rod and can turn invisible after a little while.
Powers and Abilities[]
Being a Magikoopa, she knows a variety of magic. One of her signature spells is creating a larger yellow block that blocks paths or can be smashed into opponents in battle. She can also increase power, increase defense, and heal, as well as do many other powerful spells.

Trivia[]
Kammy is similar to Kamek, with both being Magikoopas who acts as advisors to Bowser and assist him in his schemes. Starting with Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Kamek takes over Kammy's role in the series, similar to his role the main games.
Possibly in reference to her, Kamek is given the nickname "Kammey" by Olivia in Paper Mario: The Origami King, which he dislikes.
