Kannon is one of the secondary antagonists of the first season of the sci-fi cartoon series Cubix: Robots for Everyone. He is one of the evil robots created by Dr. K that help him in his quest to find Solex, a mysterious substance that makes robots affected by it go berserk, for his own goals.

Appearance

Kannon is a black, bipedal robot with three red eyes, two on the left side of his face and one on the right. His head is made from a lid that can close to hide his face. As his name suggests, he has a cannon in place of a left arm, which has an artillery tank with an orange lid and an image of a skull attached to it.

History

Kannon first appeared in the show in the episode "Heat Wave", where Dr. K brought him and Kolossal with him to retrieve Solex from an Ixtinguish fire chief robot. When Cubix was flying Chip, Abby, Cerebrix, and Don Don out of Bubble Town city hall to keep them safe from the rampaging fireman robot, Kannon blasted him with a cannonball, causing some of his cubes to fall off and making his passengers begin falling to the ground, although Cubix saves them by using his built-in fans to suspend their fall. Afterwards, Kannon engages Cubix in battle and immobilizes him by sticking his feet to the ground with paintballs, and then shoots out several small spherical robots with teeth that bite into Cubix, incapacitating him completely. However, Chip has Cerebrix isolate the frequency used to control the small robots and jam the signal, causing them to attack Kannon instead. Afterwards, Dr. K, who has successfully captured the Ixtinguish, orders Kolossal to prepare him for "surgery" (meaning extracting his Solex) and Kannon to attack Cubix and Maximix, but they dodge his cannonballs. Maximix then charges at Kannon while dodging his shots and does a backflip over him, yanking off his artillery tank as he does so and tossing it to Cubix, who in turn tosses it at Kannon's feet, causing him to get immobilized by his own paintballs, after which Cubix fires his rocket fist at him, causing him to fall over backwards. Dr. K, angered by this, has Kolossal throw the Ixtinguish into the air, but Maximix catches him before he hits the ground. Kolossal then approaches Maximix and the Ixtinguish, who are laying on the ground, and is about to stomp on them. Cubix runs to save them, but Kannon grabs his leg and causes him to trip. However, Cubix still manages to save them by throwing Kannon at Kolossal, the resulting impact defeating both of the evil robots.

In "Hurricane Havoc", Kannon, along with Dr. K's other robots, is helping him fix the leaks in his base that were caused by the hurricane.

At the beginning of "Office Politix", Kannon, along with Krab, Klawber, and Katastrophe, attack the Botties Pit to retrieve the Solex they have collected for Dr. K. Hela uses a spring mechanism hidden in the ground outside the Botties Pit to fling Kannon into the air. Later, when Maximix engages Katastrophe and stops him in his tracks, Kannon fires at Maximix, sending both him and Katastrophe flying away. Kannon then starts firing at them Botties Pit, knocking off the giant decorative wrench on it in the process. Cubix runs to help the Botties but is pinned down to the ground by Krab. However, when Connor tells him the Botties need him, Cubix gets a power boost (due to the fact that he himself is powered by Solex) and creates a force field around the Botties Pit. Dr. K, realizing his robots can't do anything with the force field there, orders them all to retreat.

In "Kubix", the Botties (sans Connor, who goes to look for Cubix) pilot Dr. K's other robots to fight Kolossal when they infiltrate Dr. K's base to rescue Cubix, who has been taken by Dr. K for his crystallized Solex, with Abby being the one to pilot Kannon. However, as the Botties don't have an idea of how the robots' controls work, they end up being defeated by Kolossal. When Dr. K uses the crystallized Solex he extracted from Cubix to turn his base into a giant robot called the Kulminator, Abby, Mong, and Chip, still inside Dr. K's robots, are ejected out of the base through a hatch on the robot's left arm, and then run away when they spot the Kulminator and it tries to stomp on them.

In the next and final episode of Season 1, the Botties, still piloting Dr. K's robots, use them to help Cubix fight the Kulminator. Connor takes pilot of Klawber and uses him to lift up Kannon, allowing Abby to use his cannonballs to burst the clown face balloon covering the Kulminator's face, revealing its real face underneath. However, the Kulminator fires a laser cannon at Klawber, causing him to drop Kannon, and he falls inside the Kulminator through the hatch on its chest with Abby still inside him. After recovering from the fall, Abby finds the mechanism powering the Kulminator's weapons and decides to use Kannon to jam it, which Dr. K is alerted to by the security system, and he and Kolossal go to deal with it. Kolossal grabs Kannon with his expendable claw and is about to slam him into a wall, but Cubix saves Abby by ramming into Kolossal, sending him flying into a wall instead. Dr. K and Kolossal chase them, but they manage to exit the Kulminator before they can catch them. Afterwards, the Botties and Cubix stand in front of the Kulminator and declare that this is where they will make their stand. They then come up with the plan to roll a giant decorative sphere into the Kulminator. Although this plan works, it is not enough to destroy the giant robot, and it throws the sphere right back at Klawber (with Connor still piloting him) and Cubix.

Season 2

It is unknown what happens to Kannon, Krab, Katastrophe and Kannon after Cubix (temporarily) sacrifices himself to destroy the Kulminator and the Botties stop piloting them, as although Dr. K returns in Season 2, they never do. It is possible that since they were evil robots who worked for Dr. K, the government of Bubble Town ordered them scrapped.

• Like all of Dr. K's robots sans Kolossal, Klawber, and Kilobot, Kannon never speaks a single word. It is unknown whether this is because he is unable to or simply chooses not to.
