Karl Branting is a supporting antagonist in the 2006 video game Bully.
He is one of the four Prefects of Bullworth Academy and often viewed as the second most corrupt of the group, behind Seth Kolbe. Although he never takes action against Jimmy unless he committed a rule infraction in the first place, Karl's highly authoritarian and aggressive attitude are enough to classify him as a lawful evil type of character.
He was voiced by Wilhelm Lewis.
Biography[]
Between the four Prefects, Karl seems to be the most and extremely authoritarian one, which may have been what lead him to become a prefect. He believes that the Bullworth Academy needs more discipline, and most of his lines are about rules and the enforcement thereof. He seems to be the most corrupt prefect only behind Seth, as he has been known to use his standing as a prefect to threaten to ruin the lives of students. Unlike his colleague Edward, he takes his job as a prefect seriously and appears to believe the cause is right; but if he is angry, he will sometimes take his feelings out on those smaller and weaker than himself.
Bully[]
Karl, like his colleagues, has a recurring role throughout the game, particularly in freeroam, where he busts Jimmy and other students when they break rules. Except that, his sole storyline appearance is during Chapter 1, where he spots Jimmy and Gary picking the lock on Russell's locker and chases Gary.
Trivia[]
- Although he is classified as the head prefect according to the data files, he never demonstrates any kind of leadership role among the Prefects, whereas Seth has the largest role of the Prefects and superior stats.
