Some chick who used to work here came up with a sorta dinosaur language. I figured, if they know what I'm saying, what's to stop me from making them DO whatever I want. I'm talking completely controlling dinosaurs. Just imagine the kind of power you could have if these stone-cold killers did your bidding. No one is saying no to you ever again.
~ Kash's villain monologue to Darius Bowman.
It's either gonna do what I want, or its little head is gonna explode. Either way, we're seeing something cool today.
~ Kash displaying his sadism to Darius, talking about Firecracker the Brachiosaurus.
Give it! Hah! Not so tough now, are you? Lucky you’re not at the top of my “get dead” list! (turns to Daniel Kon) But you are, Kon. (controls the Velociraptors) Hope you girls are hungry. (gets pounced) Huh? They scrambled the chips! (gets dragged) NO-!
~ Kash’s final words, trying to use the Velociraptors to kill his boss before realizing they're no longer controlled.

Kash D. Langford is the secondary antagonist of the Netflix series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

He was the project leader of Mantah Corp and Daniel Kon's right-hand man, who blackmailed the Gutierrez family into sending their daughter Sammy into becoming a spy at Camp Cretaceous, intending for her to collect samples for his company so they can create dinosaurs to host in illegal matches for rich investors to watch. He was, thus, also the archenemy of Sammy Gutierrez. However, as the show progresses, Kash’s goals go beyond simply wanting to host illegal dinosaur fights, planning to mind-control dinosaurs as weapons for domination and kill anyone who opposes him.

He was voiced by Haley Joel Osment, who also voiced Vanitas in Kingdom Hearts, who also voiced Zexion when disguised as Sora in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, and Vanitas Remnant in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, portrayed Mesmer in The Boys, and Leonard Burne aka Buzzsaw in DreamWorks Dragons: The Nine Realms.

History[]

Backstory[]

Kash became an employee and project leader at Mantah Corp at some point in his life. Not too long before the Jurassic World Incident, he threatened Sammy's family that they would lose their farm if Sammy didn't go to Jurassic World as a spy and collect samples. Despite her family's refusal, Sammy ended up going to save her family and to that, joined Camp Cretaceous as a spy.

Season 1[]

While not making an appearance, Sammy participates in Camp Cretaceous as a spy, and acquires a sample from a Sinoceratops and sends it to Kash using a drone sent by Mantah Corp, but when the incident occurs, Sammy is stranded on the island with her fellow campers.

Season 3[]

He doesn't appear, but a drone arrives on Isla Nublar and is hit by the Scorpios rex, and Sammy later tries to dig up dirt on Mantah Corp.

Season 4[]

Kash appears mid-way through the season. Kash heads to the island in rage after a BRAD is destroyed, which he believes one of the dinosaurs did (in actuality, Kenji Kon did so to protect his friends). Having dropped a Kentrosaurus known as Pierce in the arctic biome, Kash is enraged when the BRADs inform him that Pierce was moved (unknown to him, thanks to Mate and the campers). When he and the BRAD go looking for a Brad that fell underwater, Kash pushes it underwater in rage due to it being unable to locate the BRAD that fell.

Kash confronts Mae and noticed how she's been studying dinosaur communication. She refuses to help, and in return, Kash sends the BRADs and raptors after her to kill her. She escapes thanks to the campers, but not before being injured. Kash has Pierce and a T. rex known as Big Eatie fight, having the drones shock Big Eatie away from her daughter, Little Eatie (whom is injured after Kash had the BRADs drug their food and forced them to fight).

Kash is distracted by an explosion at a workshop and leaves to investigate it. However, he heads back and discovers Darius Bowman trying to use his phone to call for help, Kash takes it and angrily confronts Darius, who manages to convince him that he’s alone and got stranded on the island after escaping Isla Nublar. Kash takes Darius prisoner, not trusting him since he feels that he’s seen too much. Kash warns Darius to stay out of his way, as he won’t hesitate to feed him to one of the dinosaurs if he steps out of line.

While Kash stops the fight between Big Eatie and Pierce, this is only because he realizes Darius is right that his boss would be upset if he killed an expensive dinosaur. Kash seperates the dinosaurs and goes to the MED bay with Darius, not giving the dinosaurs any medical treatment. Kash proposes to Daniel that they shouldn’t do Dino fights because people will get bored of them after a while but Daniel refuses to listen to him. Kash instead tells Darius he plans to use Mae’s research of communicating with dinosaurs to learn how to mind control them and use them to kill anyone who defies him.

He then makes the BRAD-X watch over Darius, making sure it will kill Darius if he steps out of line. Kash wonders if Darius is worth keeping around and makes him chip a Spinosaurus, ordering the BRAD-X not to eat him in return unless he does so. Thanks to the help of his friends, Darius doesn't do it. Kash then decides to test the chips on the baby dinosaurs after realizing the chips won’t work on the other dinosaurs either and their brains might be too resistant too it, uncaring of the possibility of it frying their brains.

However, thanks to the other campers, a Ceratosaurus is free and it tries to eat the two, with Kash trying and failing to leave Darius behind and then use him as a human shield. After noticing they’re missing, Kash has the BRADs search for the missing baby dinosaurs and they manage to get Firecracker. Kash brainwashes it but it only follows his command to stop, much to his rage.

The campers plan to trap Kash. After seeing a Sinoceratops fleeing, Kash rushes after it. After outsmarting him using noises with a tablet, Darius then flees from Kash and locks him inside Mae's cave. Kash rages Darius is "going down."

However, through unknown means, he escapes. He’s overheard talking to Daniel by Darius, as they discuss their plans to move Pierce to a biome with Dilophosaurus. The campers save Pierce but realize it's a trap and Kash reappears with a BRAD-X army, alongside his boss.

Season 5[]

Kash is told to stand down by Daniel, much to his annoyance. Kash thinks he recognizes Sammy and is confronted by Daniel over trying to murder Mae. Kash states he did what had to be done but Daniel is disgusted. Kash flies into a rage at Daniel and attempts to kill him, the six kids, and Mae. Daniel overrides his controls, has the BRADs grab him and he is jailed.

Sammy and Brooklyn meet with him to talk about his blackmail of Sammy's family. He informs them of where to find information about what happened to Sammy’s family in Kon’s office after Brooklyn promises to free him. However, Brooklyn rightfully chooses not to trust him and leaves him locked up after he gives them the necessary information.

He is freed by Daniel to help Mae finish the mind-control chips, under the threat of being punished if he tried to kill her again and successfully uses one on Big Eatie, much to his sadistic joy, but is booted aside from his fame by Daniel in favor of Kenji, with Daniel telling him that he deserves to be dead after his betrayal of him.

He follows the campers to the biome where the presentation is being held and steals a mind-control tablet from Lana Molina, only leaving her alone because she wasn’t “at the top of [his] get dead list”. He tried to murder Daniel with the raptors, but Yaz and Sammy had already scrambled the control chips, unknown to him. He is then attacked and eaten alive towards his well deserved death.

Personality[]

Kash is a cruel, arrogant, treacherous, cowardly and impatient man that forces the dinosaurs to fight and uses his BRADS, BRAD-Xs, and drones to force the dinosaurs to fight and eliminate anyone or thing that gets in his way. When he loses his temper, he screams, throws things around, and on one occasion kicked a BRAD into ice-cold water. He is more than willing to murder innocents, as seen by him trying to have Mae killed and is even willing to harm Darius (a minor), as he threatened him more than once and even sent him on a suicide mission to chip the Spinosaurus. He’s shown to easily use sadistic methods to torture dinosaurs, whether it be shocking them with the drones or using mind control on them, even infant ones, even uncaring that they’re openly trying to resist it.

He dislikes his boss, as he rants about him and has called him an idiot, in a way similar to how Henry Wu dislikes Eli Mills. He may be willing to overthrow his boss Daniel, as on one indication, he seemed to indicate that to Darius, but then stopped himself from revealing too much. His ego can be stuck easily, as Darius fools him into believing that he is right and that he (Darius) is on his side. He can also be seen as a poor sport and a cheater, as after he lost to Darius in the video game, he uses cheat codes and tactics to win the subsequent games.

Eventually, Kash did attempt to betray and murder Daniel, alongside the kids and Mae but it failed and he was imprisoned. After Daniel released him to let Kash finish his work, Kash arrogantly assumed he'd be rewarded. However, Daniel didn't plan to reward him, telling him Kash deserves to be dead after he betrayed him and leaves Kash behind. Despite being spared, Kash still attempts to kill Daniel but is killed by the raptors before he can.

Quotes[]

I don't wanna have to wait to see if this thing works! Stay still! You do not want me to miss with this thing! Okay, and… [chips Firecracker] Ah, nailed it. Or rather, chipped it!
~ Kash to Firecracker while chipping it.
Chill, kid. I'm not getting eaten by a flying lizard to find them.
~ Darius and Kash after an encounter with Pteranodons.
YOU THINK YOU'RE CLEVER?! YOU'RE GOING DOWN KID, YOU HEAR ME?! YOU'RE GOING DOWN!
~ One of Kash's many villainous breakdowns after being tricked and trapped by Darius.
Kash: —it's injured, and it broke off a tail spike, so it's not even that cool anymore.
Mr. Kon: Always so short-sighted, Kash, it's no wonder you were outsmarted by a child. The assets in the new biome were devouring their food supply at an unprecedented rate. Let's see if two tons of
Kentrosaurus will satiate them.
Kash: You released those things already? I—I—uh—I haven't figured out a way to contain them! The drones don't work because—
Mr. Kon: Doesn't matter because we won't be there. The BRADs will take care of the
Kentrosaurus while we prep the forest biome for the presentation.
Kash: You got it, Danny Boy! Sorry. Daniel.
~ Kash talking with Daniel.
You were right, boss. Dumb kid did have help!
~ Kash to Daniel after capturing the Camp Fam.

Trivia[]

  • Kash is considered one of the worst and most hated villains in the franchise, due to his frequent temper tantrums over minor things and his cartoonishly evil personality.
    • Despite this, Kash's voice actor, Haley Joel Osment, has admitted to enjoying the role.
  • Since Camp Cretaceous has been adapted into young adult novelizations only for the first four seasons, Kash is not killed by Velociraptors, so his status within the continuity of young adult novelizations remains unknown.
