Kataribe Beast (カタリベビースト Kataribe Bīsuto, lit. Storyteller Beast) is a minor antagonist of Uchuu Keiji Sharivan who appears in episodes 19 and 20. He is a storyteller-like Makai Beast who helps the Madou in their search for Iga Crystal on Earth to rule over the universe.
He is voiced by late Eisuke Yoda, who also voiced Volcano Mask General Magman in Himitsu Sentai Gorenger, Shine in J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai, Führer Taboo in Dai Sentai Goggle V, and Lu-Long, Parchis, Demost and Silver Shark in Sekai Ninja Sen Jiraiya. In his human disguise, he was portrayed by late Haruhiko Saito as a church father.
Biography[]
The Kataribe Beast is first created by Space Crime Syndicate Madou and he became part of their plans of searching for the Iga Crystal that was sent to Earth for 2,000 years following the destruction of the Iga Planet at their hands.
Once he arrived on the Okuiga Island where the current generation of Iga clan lives, the Kataribe Beast disguised himself as a church father where he was seen sitting in a wooden bench until Den arrived at the island and encountered with him. Den asked him if he knew about the Iga Crystal, but the Father refused and instead telling him to find the island elder at the Demon Lake before he enters back into a church. Later, the father is walking on the bridge until he encountered with Den again who is hanging under the bridge and pretends to help him reach for his stick, but later revealing his true nature and mocking him before revealing his true form as well. The Kataribe Beast attempt to drop Den off the bridge, but Den managed to survived and transformed into Sharivan. After the fight, he later retreated away as Sharivan fired at him with Crime Buster.
After Doctor Polter told the Demon King Psycho that the Iga Crystal is hidden somewhere in the Okuiga Island, the Kataribe Beast, along with the rest of Madou, are searching for the Iga Crystal at the island until they were confronted by an armored Jii and the female group of Iga Crystal guardians. He, along with General Gyrer, are mortally wounding Jii while they're fighting and were about to kill him until Den/Sharivan returns back to the island and went to save him. The Kataribe Beast went to fought against Sharivan before he retreated.
The Kataribe Beast, disguised himself as a botanist, encountered with Den yet again and leading him to the waterfall when he was asked if he has seen a statue of lion. He attempt to push Den off the cliff and aggressively stomping him while declaring that the map Den's holding was now his before revealing his true form, again. He then brutally striked Den before throwing him off the cliff, but Den managed to survived from the fall. Later, he, along with the rest of Madou, were finally found the Iga Lion Sword and attempt to pull it off, but the statue of lion head sensed their evil prescence and fired laser on them which caused the rockfall and they later retreated.
After Den managed to pulled off the Iga Lion Sword which later opens the cave and uncover the Iga Crystal, the Kataribe Beast, along with the rest of Madou, are entering the cave as well where they confronted Den and Miyuki's group. They demanded Den and Miyuki's group to give them an Iga Crystal, but only for Den and the others to hold them off while Miyuki touch the mane part of the lion statue which sending the Iga Crystal and Miyuki's group away. Enraged, the Madou attacked Den, but the head lion is separated from the statue and attacked them back. After General Gyrer striked the lion head statue on the ground which caused it to explodes, the cave started to collapsed and Den and the rest of Madou are retreated. After Den transformed into Sharivan, the Kataribe Beast fired a mouth bombs at him while they're fighting. After they're dragged into Genmu World, Sharivan is initially struggled to fight against the Makai Beast until he finally finished it off with Sharivan Crash.
