Biography[]
In her short appearance, she first appeared when she called her husband's office in a hotel, where Conan answered the phone and gave it to her husband. Later she was found dead in her house, more specifically in the bathtub while being tied up and founded dead being strangled.
At the time, it was believed that she was killed by her lover; a man named Shunzou Hirose, who Souhei hired Kogoro to spy on her to see of her faithfulness towards him was correct. During the funeral, while only a picture is shown, Hirose came and accused Souhei as the killer, revealing that he and Kazumi were planing to get married after she and Souhei got divorced, despite claiming this is the first time hearing it. Then Kogoro (via Conan) revealed that Kazumi was killed by Souhei rather than Hirose and that the murder took place in the hotel rather than their house, despite his alibi being rock solid. However, when Conan present a tape recording of a music box playing in the background when she called, with one note is missing, crumbling Souhei's alibi and revealed his motive (also exposing her as a hidden villain)
Turns outs that Kazumi was blackmailing Souhei by threatening to expose his corrupt deeds as a lawyer to his clients unless he agreed to pay her 200 million yen as a divorce compensation when she divorces him and marry Hirose. She was then made a deal that if she called him at a specific time in the guest room at the hotel, he would give her the money, not knowing that he would kill her and create a perfect alibi.
